Vandy just has no impressive wins yet. Beat SLU then we might start talking.

Don't disagree Belle. That's why I said just about as important. But when people talk about the dominance of the SEC in football, the first thing they talk about is the national championship streak (the equivalent of UF and UK in basketball) and not whether MSU beat ISU or some game like that.

And for the record, for me UT has been the biggest disappointment so far this year because I thought they were in a position to compete at the top of the SEC this year with the talent they have.

Better not take SLU lightly. They are arguably the best team in the state of Missouri and if not best it is 1A and 1B.

We beat y'all in New Orleans two years ago to win the Conference title didn't we? And by the way, that home-cooking crew sure helped Kentucky beat Louisville yesterday.

Congrats on giving us the loss to get our asses in gear for a NC. But once again, how'd that NCAA Tournament work out for your team? We're discussing your team's NCAA Tournament prowess, not that one time you finally won the SEC Tournament.

And you sound like a UofL fan. I'd tell you congrats but that's not exactly something worth celebrating.

What the hell is a Billiken anyway? What ever it is we plan on running it out of town.

Kenpom has them at #25. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt is at #90. SLU's only losses were to Wichita State and Wisconsin, both top-10 teams, and they were close games. I wouldn't be surprised if SLU blew out Vanderbilt.

Not for certain, but think it was just some good luck charm created around 1900.

And if that happens Vandy is just another 4 loss SEC team entering conference play with 0 quality wins.

They're the best team in the state of Missouri. They're not the most talented, but they're the best coached by a thousand miles. SLU is basically the opposite of Mizzou, moderately talented and very well coached vs talented and poorly coached.

I think the bottom line is that freshmen are still freshmen for a reason. To me any time you have a team full of talent but also full of 18 year olds, the baseline expectation is to watch out for them come February and March but expect it to take time to gel early. Rather than just completely chuck that rather common sense approach out the window with Kentucky every year, fans and media might be wiser to recognize what a tremendous job that means they did in the 2012 type years and even then take note of some of the experienced players they did have in those years. This uk team is more talented than most but also even younger than most.

It's telling that the other stud freshmen led teams, aka kansas, Duke etc, have also not looked as great as they were "supposed to" yet either. I actually think its good for college basketball that there are still teams out there with enough good juniors and seniors on them that having the greatest freshman class doesn't just automatically grant you a 40-0 record and that there is still a learning curve.

Mizzou would beat SLU by double digits in CoMo IMHO. In STL I dunno. But it's not a series we play & the only time SLU wants to play us is when they get fairly good every 15 years or so, so screw it. Would rather play Missouri State each year. The statements by some of our fans that we are poorly coached are retarded fair weather St. Louisian Bernie Miklaisz type bullshite.
