I predict that the preseason will be filled with predictions.

It's rare for teams to win the west in back to back years. Only once in the last 13 years.

There were multiple problems. Our youth defensively was absolutely one of them.

Lsu returned one starter with more than a years experience. We still finished with a top 20 defense

I've been saying for a couple of years now that SCAR was going to have a monster year in 2014, so I'm not about to change that now.

Why? Because we've simply recruited very well in the trenches, are deep a d eexperienced everywhere except maybe now at one corner ...and we were the youngest team in the country last season.

My prefiction looks like this:

West

LSU
Bama
Auburn
Ole Miss
A&M
Arkansas
Miss State

East

SCAR
Georgia
Florida
Mizzou
Tennessee
Vandy
Kentucky

Sort of a tie between UGA and UF. Then a tie between Mizzou and Tennessee.

Same thing in the West. Very close, too close to call, between LSU, Bama and Auburn.

I do believe SCAR will go undefeated next season by continuing to win close games and by finally not crapping the bed. So glad to have UGA back in The Cockpit next year. Gonna be a barn burner at Auburn. Tennessee in tColumbia will help our cause and, again, a Top Ten matchup when we travel to Clemson.

For whomever asked at the beginning of the thread, I have Tennessee above both Vanderbilt and Florida next year.

They are a sleeper. Very good recruiting class coming in and the defense should be better.

Ole Miss and Mississippi State have to beat A&M first. Neither has shown they can do it.

I agree.

LSU/South Carolina in the SEC championship game.

Both teams entering the game at 11-1.

Very possible that the defense continues to get better. Freak and Ego will be back RE: draft status. DBs may be best in SEC.

On the offense Landry is strongly considering returning at WR for LSU, Kenny Hillard is also returning. OL is deep.

X-factor is schedule (good) and QB (uncertain).
The Cam factor has to be considered.

If Jennings is anywhere as good as Cam says he can be, LSU will be back on top again.

I guess I missed the war 2 pages back, but I will add my opinion. I am one of the guys you can throw in with losing my faith in Richt. I don't know if we will make it to Atlanta next year, despite having the deepest team in the East.

Offense will once again be explosive, but who's to say injuries don't plague us again, if in fact S&C are a big factor in it, because what I've learned with Richt is it will take a double dose of the problem for it register with him.

We saw it with the defense in 2008-2009 when he was reluctant to let go of Willie Martinez, so we brought a new system and coach and we went 6-6. A bad defense set our program back 3 years. 2012 was the most talented D we have had in a while, and it was mediocre. I have no faith in CTG, with seasoned players (2012) or new guys (2013).

Defense will once again be under performing, poor at tackling and fundamentals, look confused before every snap. I get where the hope is coming from. This unit may show signs of brilliance, but it won't be consistent. We will not win a championship next year because of our defense, and that should be the goal every year.

This shite I'm hearing about our offense possibly taking a step back is laughable. We return possibly the best RB in the country when 100% and Keith Marshall who hopefully will get back to the level he was playing at in 2012. Every single target we have returns; Mitchell, JSW, Bennett, Conley. Covering all of those guys in a four WR look will really create some problems and then you still have to worry about Gurley.

I will take the wait and see approach on Mason, but I do not see a significant drop from him to Murray. I don't want to understate what Murray means to this offense, but Mason has done well in pretty much every situation we have thrown him in. He will NOT be Cox 2.0.

I expect anywhere from 8-4 (If injuries hit us hard again) to 10-2 and playing in Atlanta.

I think the winner of the UGA/Mizzou game has a great shot at winning the East. Mizzou's offense will not skip a beat, so it is just a matter of how good the defense is going to be. USCe having Shaw back sucks, that and we play at their place.

I am not sure about having Bama finishing 3rd in the West. I think LSU or Bama win that division. Auburn's defense seems pretty weak.

Not sure if serious???

No way Bert comes into Starkville and wins next year. Plus State has Kentucky and Vandy as our 2 East opponents so we will have 3 SEC wins minimum.

If a UGA fan predicted an undefeated season at any point in time, SC fans would be clamoring that same old "preseason national champs yet again" line.

Pretty sure that Shaw is graduating. They will have Dylan Thompson who has plenty of experience.

I like the confidence, but you might wanna wait until after the game to put a W beside Vanderbilt. Should be a really good game though.
