Texas is desperate if they come after Malzahn. He's been at a big program one year.
Hard to turn down Texas though if they come calling. I wouldn't blame him for leaving.

It nice when they let fans post their theories as truth and get everyone to believe. Hate to crush your hopes but Mack has his job for at least another year after their turnaround. If they didn't put Mack on the road for Saban last year then they surely won't for Gus after only one year at Auburn.

That'd be a step down for Gus. Not happening

so AU concern level about losing Malzahn matches Bama concern level about losing Saban. Good to know. We all good up in this state.

Texas could easily out bid Auburn for Gus Bus.

That list is embarrassing. What excuse will they use when they've been turned down 3-4 times?

What excuses were we using when we fired Shula? Look 'em up, and forward them on.
They're liable to need 'em.

Why not go after a coach just as good with no loyalty aka todd grahm

They could outbid Bama too. But they won't. They're not going to be willing to pay Malzahn more than Auburn is after being a head coach at a major program for one year.

You guys missed the telling quote at the beginning. The statement, "no buyout on our end, huge buyout for them to leave"...made in the context of hiring Nick Saban. That alone should have been your clue to not waste your time reading the article. Anyone who thinks Nick Saban ever signs a clause that saddles him with a buyout is clueless about the entire topic.

Bama fans praying that Malzahn and Sumlin both get hired away. F-cking adorable.

I dunno anything for sure but i think gus is one hell of a coach. IMO i wouldnt say just because he has been at Auburn for one year doesnt mean that he hasnt proven himself. He is piloting a remarkable turnaround on one year....thats an immediate impact and something texas desperately needs...Someone that can have an immediate impact. Not saying they will even make a phone call but i wouldnt say they are not interested

Texas could out bid any school in the country
Posted on 11/25/13 at 10:33 am to rammerjammer24
This is actually true. Only he is going to Texas to be Saban's OC.

Auburn can certainly be outbid, but in this case, it is more likely to be about what AU is willing to do than what it can do. If someone wants to throw stupid money at Gus, they'll probably get him. Now, for under 3-3.5 million, I don't think he's going anywhere.

Yeah, I don't think Texas would be willing to pay more than 15 million a year.
Then again, you never know what desperate programs will do. Remember what we had said about us when we offered Saban 4 mil a year.

Pretty much this, Texas is going to have to pay some serious money for Gus. If they do they could probably have him.

Exactly. But they're aren't going to be willing to for a guy with very little experience.
