His best 2 defenses were in '10 and '11. There was a big drop off from '11's to '12's, but then '13's is even worse than '12's.

I chalk up 2012 decline to being players reading their own press clippings, and waiting for their paychecks. This year? NOBODY could have made a good defense out of what Grantham had. Too many young players. It seems obvious to me that Grantham needs experienced players (Particularly in the secondary) to make the defense viable.

Personally, I think Grantham does a pretty fair job at motivating his players and adjusting. Georgia seems to rise up and make key stops when they absolutely have to, which goes directly to Grantham's ability to motivation. He just does not have the experience needed to sustain it over the course of an entire game.

Don't get me wrong...he does a poor job of adjusting schemes according to his personnel. I'm not sold on him, and it might be time for him to go. but, we all saw improvement as the year went along on the defensive front and LBs. The secondary just seems to be a hot mess, though, right now. Earlier I checked it off to not getting enough pressure on the QB, but as the year went along Floyd and Drew (in particular) put pressure on the quarterback. Makes me wonder if there is a fail at the secondary coach...or at the very least a lack of communication between Grantham and the secondary coach.

"Spaceman Spiff
Coach Grantham
Really, do you think he is going to read this dribble, much less respond to it?"

Apparently you do, coach.
