Salvaged one anyway...

I'll take it. As bad as we looked this weekend, to split the 6 games against LSU and State isn't a horrible start to the season. Learn and grow from it and move on.

Home with UK will be interesting. Anybody going to the Louisville midweek game in early May?

Conde with a bloop to left to score the 4th run, then Wiel blows it open with a great bunt and some poor UK throws. Now 6-2 bottom of the 8th.

This was amazing. Great series. Definitely a shaky start to today, but it was great to see the team steady itself.

Fairly huge win today. Stay above .500 in the conference with a chance to add to UT's misery next weekend.

For the updated stat sheet:
Team stats (w/ Opponents'):
ERA: 1.98 (Opp. 4.68)
BA: .286 (Opp. .183)
OB%: .373 (Opp. .274)
Slg%: .396 (Opp. .234)
Fld%: .972 (Opp. .963)
BB: 90 (Opp. 105)
SO: 269 (Opp. 166)
I'll get to the rankings tonight once the new ones come up. My thoughts so far: Our pitchers started SEC play with a phenomenally small number of walks, and that has skyrocketed. Any reason for the loss of control? Has our equally plummeting fielding percentage caused our pitchers to lose faith in the guys behind him?
Also, Coleman needs to take a seat from the DH spot. Our leadoff guy cannot be an easy out. He can make good contact on the ball, but not very often. Weak infield grounders is pretty much all I've seen from him. I don't think he's ready, and this team needs more from its #1 spot.

Beefed has seriously lost his edge since LSU.

This game is making me sad. What the hell is up with Beede?
Posted on 4/4/14 at 5:54 pm to DoreonthePlains
He has settled in. Hopefully, the bats can get fired up.
