Vandy with the 2-0 win today!
Miller went 7 giving up 4 hits and striking out 6, while Fulmer picked up a 2 inning save, striking out 5.

Miller threw some nasty stuff today. That second inning was impressive.

Kyle Smith made his first appearances this weekend, and went 6 for 6 at the plate. Hopefully, this is a sign that we didn't lose as much offense as we feared.

Just tuned in. Damn. Western Kentucky pitcher is working a no hitter in the fourth.

Weil hits a double to score turner and Swanson! 3-2 Hilltoppers in the sixth.

Just couldn't get that tying run. Only mustered 3 hits and the freshmen position players played like freshmen. Growing pains that are part of the learning process. Turn around and start a new streak today.

Pretty crazy day with Virginia, LSU, Vandy, Rice, and UCLA all dropping midweek games.

Wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Pec for a while. A mere shell of himself with zero confidence. We knew this team had some deficiencies but I didn't expect them to be exposed against mid-week competition. The last 2 nights have been ugly. I don't mind sitting in the cold watching a win but last night was rough. There couldn't have been 100 people there last night.

Western Kentucky wasn't too bad. They are a quality team. Evansville is not the same story, but we had freshmen at nearly every position but pitcher. It showed.

Did Stanford change pitchers and proceed to walk Reynolds on 4 straight balls? Whoops
4-1 for the good guys after 6.

Beede looks dominant from the stats. I can dig it. Fulmer locked down his 2 innings too.

So torn between baseball and Mardi Gras. The radio call from Stanford was singing Beede's praises.

Much better game last night. Beede pitched well and great situational hitting. The ump getting knocked out in the eighth was the scariest thing I've witnessed at a baseball game. It was church quiet for 5 minutes at Hawkins. Glad he's ok.

Ref got knocked out? What?!

Chris Harvey got crossed up on a 95 mph Carson Fulmer fastball that caught the ump flush off the mask and knocked him out cold. There's video out there of it. Very scary sight. He's ok and was working 3rd base today.

Dang...glad he's ok. 95 to the head is no joke.

Link to the video? I can't find it. I'm curious to see. Game three about to start with Ferguson on the mound.

I love Ferguson. Every time I see his name, I thnk of UT fan Kathleen calling into 3HL. It was glorious.
