You seriously expect that he'd receive public offers while committed to Ole Miss?

He committed to OM barely before the season started and yes, if he's supposedly some awesome player I'd go to bet MANY schools would be all over despite a non-binding verbal commitment. Are you nuts?

I could care less, the non-offers speak louder than hypothetical rankings.

"Public" was the key word in my quote. We don't know who else was interested in him during the high school season, but players simply do not receive public offers after committing to another school in basketball.

Yeah, I'm being the tard not going by hypthetical rankings instead actual physical offers.

What is "hypothetical" about draftexpress' rankings? They're an extremely well-respected site and have tons of connections. The fact that they ranked Saiz so highly (ahead of a bunch of good players, one being Jordan Mickey) is extremely relevant.

I've already explained why the "he didn't have any offers!" argument is dumb. He was already to committed to Ole Miss before his high school season (which is when he would've been seen by most college coaches), and players simply do not receive offers publicly while committed to another school. It just doesn't happen.

Saiz was a good pickup for Ole Miss and it'll show this season. He'll get a ton of minutes for them out of necessity and has a chance to start. To say he's a "low 3-star" is extremely ingenuous. The 3-stars are a placeholder because none of the recruiting services saw him.

I shouldn't have to explain that at all.

Yet he played for an ENTIRE season at one of the top notch basketball schools in Kansas against some national teams like Prime Prep, IMG Academy, etc...

I see you're abandoning your dumb argument about the offers, at least. Progress.

I should've worded that a bit better. What makes their rankings any more "hypothetical" than Rivals', ESPN's, or 247's? Draftexpress has more connections than all of them.

You're giving the recruiting services too much credit.

Sunrise Christian is fairly young and is an up-and-comer. They don't have the reputation and exposure of the Prime Preps and Montverdes of the high school basketball world. Rivals made the trip down there once, but Saiz was hurt.

For the most part, none of the recruiting services care about high school basketball outside of the few national tournaments (which Sunrise Christian didn't participate in). They're not going to watch some random regular season game between Sunrise Christian and Prime Prep. AAU is where they evaluate players, and Saiz never played AAU in the states.

He did ball out at several international tournaments in the summer for Spain's U19 and U20 team. Here's a highlight video: LINK

I never abandoned that at all. I see it upsets you to know facts trump opinions though.

Most of the things I posted were facts.

Most of the recruiting services never saw Saiz or saw him in limited capacity. AAU is the lifeblood of basketball recruiting, and Saiz never played AAU ball. High school basketball is not emphasized by basketball recruiting services.

Saiz committed to Ole Miss before his high school season. It's very rare that players are publicly offered scholarships in basketball recruiting while committed to another school.

Saiz played well in international competition for Spain and draftexpress ranked him highly in their freshman rankings (well, I guess you can say this is an opinion, but it's a very relevant and valuable opinion).

Which of this is opinion? Either way, I'm done here. Tard on.

4* PF William Lee is visiting Bama this weekend. People think it's a 3 team race between UGA, SMU, and Bama. I'm thinking he chooses UGA.

Not even trying to be a homer, but I can't understand why he would even think about UGA.

If you look at Kennedy's track record as a coach recruiting, it has been fairly consistent. He goes after guys that fit his system. Usually include some SEC-Mid Major caliber players from Mississippi, then supplement that with relative unknowns that again fit his system. There are always the JUCO guys he brings in that fill out the roster and make his squad consistently NIT bound/ bubble watch.

we stoped competatively recruiting top level basketball recruits the minute Rick Stansbury "Retired"

Rick Ray still hasnt gotten a commitment or signed a single 4 star recruit yet. Gonna be a rough couple of years with him as HC.

Big night for Mizzou tomorrow night. They hosted 5* SG Devin Booker's official visit last weekend when I think the attention was on Devin and mom. He returns this weekend when Mizzou honors his dad and team with a throw back game tomorrow night at the now retired Hearnes Center. If Mizzou wants any hope of being in the picture, I think the exhibition game has to be electric and the "love" has to be strong for both father and son.

Ole Miss got a commitment from JUCO PG Stefan Moody, who averaged 15.7 points at Florida Atlantic in his freshman season.

He's only 5'9" (generously) but can jump out of the gym. He's a good pickup if he can qualify and keep his grades up (grades were the reason he transferred from FAU).
