Unless his son had offers from Elon and Presbyterian. Then I think he'd have a chance.

Next commit will likely be Makinde London, a borderline top 50 guy.

I'm guessing this is a big surprise for Tennessee not to be included?

UT probably eliminated themselves with Turman's commitment.

I don't think we've offered. Might be a bit of a backup plan. At his ranking right now, I think he's a bit overrated. I'm not sure if schools are recruiting him as a long SF or a project PF.

This apparently wasn't a surprise to the staff. After Turman's commit, both Rob Lewis and Brendan Quinn said London was no longer in play for us.

Makes me kind of mad, but not shocking I guess. Definitely think he will be very, very good.

I am starting to think we might get Black.

That'd be a steal. The only thing I've read says Black likes Illinois but he obviously changes a lot.

London will be better than Black in college, I would bet money on that.

What position do you see London playing in college?

I think Black will be a very good college player. Murphy Holloway with a jump shot.

I thought Black was Florida's to lose. When did that change? I know he's changed in the past but I hadn't heard he was off of Florida since his team mate committed there.

4, but I think he is skilled enough to play the 3.

He visited early this month and eliminated us shortly after.

He's supposedly Illinois' to lose now, but who knows? Tennessee has a few factors working in their favor. Location (at least compared to the other schools on his list), early playing time (without Maymon and presumably Stokes), religious head coach.

Mizzou Recruiting ?@MIZ_Recruiting 2h

RT“@DMcDonaldHoops: 2014 SG Ahmed Hill has cut his list down to Florida, Florida State, Indiana Marquette, and Missouri.”

Still in on Georgia 4* SG Hill and Booker. Not getting expectations high for Mizzou landing either quite yet, but at least in the running.

As for Booker, I would imagine this is our attempt to answer BBM. Playing a game, on homecoming weekend, at the old Hearnes Center, honoring the 1994 team with Melvin Booker on it. Regardless of whether Booker picks Mizzou, the night should be something special.

The Tigers will wear throwback uniforms in the style worn in 1994. Haith has been working with Stewart to get members of the team — which included such standouts as Melvin Booker, Jevon Crudup, Kelly Thames and Paul O’Liney — to return to Columbia for the game.

I expect Arkansas to finish their class soon with 3-star OH Combo Guard Jalen Hudson officially visiting. From same school as LeBron.

Just a little follow up on the throw back game Mizzou will be hosting. Mizzou has nothing anually that can compete with BBM when it comes to recruiting Booker. This one time opportunity may give Mizzou the closest it can come to BBM. The fanbase is absolutely loving the idea of playing in the retired Hearnes Center, where Melvin Booker played at an All-American level and went 14-0 in conference play.

The place should be electric even if it is an exhibition game. Throw back facilities. Throw back uniforms. 20 year reunion of that team and Melvin Booker. Devin Booker makes his official the weekend before and sounds as if he will return for the reunion game. Again, not to put it at the level of BBM, but as far as special events go, it's the closest Mizzou can come to matching it.

Haven't all of these 2014 guards gotten the memo that we're not taking another guard in this class?

I truly hope you're right gator. That would mean Booker and Hill's top 5's are really top 4's. We could use all the help we can get in landing either of them.

UK...that means it's your turn to go get Vaughn and Johnson and then quietly bow out of the race on any more guards. Gonna win this war by attrition.

We only have a few spots left in the 2014 class and we're in desperate need of bigs. Young, Yeguete, and Prather will all be gone and Walker could very well be a one-and-done. In 2014-15, we'll have Harris, Finney-Smith (who is more of a SF), Walker (maybe), and Devon Walker (who is a 6'6", 190 lbs SF). We can't afford to take anymore guards.

I would think that you guys would have a very good chance with Hill after Gant's commitment.

I certainly hope that's the case. I'd certainly give us a better shot with him than UK, but the fan in me just won't let go of that funny feeling I have on Booker.

We currently have one commitment for 2014: PG Marcus Stroman (4* Rivals, 3* ESPN).

With a sizable 2013 class, we currently have a full roster for 2013. Only SG Brenton Williams is the remaining scholarship senior of roster (Bruce Ellington is a Sr., but of course is on FB scholly). We have a center in Carlton Geathers who has had a severe knee injury that has been troublesome to heal. He may earn a hardship medical which would open up a scholarship.

Coach Martin is also known (now) as a coach that will move players from the roster if they do not show improvement or get with the program. There could obviously be 1 or 2 others that are shown the door after this season if they struggle.

We're still actively recruiting several other prospects to join Stroman, most notably PF Dante Buford (3* Rivals, 4* ESPN), and SF TeMarcus Blanton (NR Rivals, NR ESPN)...

I'm a big Martin fan. He'll get the program up in running sooner than most would think.

I'm going to guess that Haith is going to handle it similarly to Martin. I think Mizzou is actually out of scholarships already. Might have been even before Gant. There is no doubt they take Hill or Booker if either chose MU so the writing is on the wall for some one or more currently on the team.
