He visited last weekend. Probably just isn't taking calls right now.

Alabama cleaned up after theirs, wow.

But if the new kyle is going to be mostly ready for home games this season why can't we host one next spring? If I remember correctly, Sumlin said we wouldn't have one this year and next bc the NCAA turned down their request to have one off-campus.

Kyle won't be finished this off-season. We will completely tear down the West side and rebuild it after the '14 season. The '14 season is going to be a frankenstein Kyle with only part of the renovations done.

Shaggy is not very happy with Jordan Davis and Kyle Allen

It kind of starts the page before that, but this page has the real gems.

This is all because he left their spring game at halftime...

I don't particularly like Davis' judgment, but I'll keep an open mind if he does pull the trigger for the good guys. That having been said, I'm pretty sure the two Arkie kids are actually better at the position.

Can we stop recruiting Jordan Davis yet. Kids a grade a bitch

Composite Natl top 100 OT Chuma Edoga from GA

@edogawd
Discussed with my mom. As of now this is my official Top 6. #Clemson #FSU #UGA #Buckeyes #Vols #Aggies

This was always a longshot, but apparently Edoga is making an announcement tonight. He's listing A&M as one of his potential options, but AFAIK he's never been to A&M*

Kid wants to be an engineer and wants out of state. I thought given our proliferation of NFL tackles and our engineering school, we'd get a look. But it appears he's going to UT.

* Actually he's already narrowed it this morning to #USC #UGA #Vols so we're officially out

We may have a commit shortly in JUCO S Justin Evans. I can't find anything on his HS recruitment but he's a DEC grad at a desperate position that already has a couple of SEC offers (UGA, Auburn, Ole Miss).

Boom. Do you know anything new on lodge? You said earlier that the guy you talked to felt good about us and lodge. Do you know if he still feels that way after that whole top 5 thing a couple weeks back

speaking of Christian

quote:

"Kyle Allen talks to me every week. It's about Texas A&M but also just as friends. He's my inside access into Texas A&M and what it's about. Me and Kyler (Murray) are real good friends, we've built a great relationship. Kyler is pretty much Oregon and Texas A&M, whichever one he chooses I'm going to look at. Same with Damarkus Lodge, he is another guy from the Texas area I talk with a lot."

Haven't talked to him in a few weeks but he'd have texted me at least if he heard anything new. Supposedly Lodge rarely talks recruiting though so not too surprising. Also he's in no hurry to make a decision, so it's unlikely we'll hear anything for a while.

So I guess Sumlin is taking measures to fill up a quarterback cupboard going bare... just saw that on 24/7 we may be interested in Travis Waller from Servite HS out of California for 2015. No offer yet, just preliminary stuff. Interesting.

Oregon is recruiting him hard. FWIW, servite is one of THE powerhouses in California

AFAIK we were always taking two this year. That's why the whole Kyler is the only one on our board is just weird. Even Kyler has mentioned that there were going to be two.

I've always assumed our 2nd QB would be like Granato or Virgil. A good prospect but not a national type. But hey, if Waller wants to join in the fun, who am I to say no?

Daylon Mack has been tweeting some things that make it seem like he is gonna decommit. I don't like it.

people fricking pay for this shite

quote:

As a new feature to this column, I thought I would create a new section that would include my projections on the 2015 Texas Longhorns recruiting class every time there's a new commitment.

This will give us a running scoreboard of what the class might look like as we approach National Signing Day, which is still nine and a half months away.

Committed players are bolded

Quarterback (two): Zach Gentry (Albuquerque, NM) and J.W. Ketchum (Fort Bend Marshall)

Current rankings: Gentry (4 stars/No.10 pro-style QB) and Ketchum (4 stars/No. 26 athlete/No. 22 LSR)

Quickie thoughts: I've always believed that Ketchum would emerge as the No. 2 quarterback/athlete in this class and I'm starting to buy the idea that Gentry will be the No. 1 option, which would give the Longhorns a very versatile set of options moving into the position for the future.

Running Backs (four): Jordan Stevenson (South Oak Cliff), Kirk Johnson (San Jose, Ca.), Tristan Houston (Houston North Shore) and Chris Warren (Rockwall, Texas)

Current rankings: Stevenson (3 stars/No. 28 RB/No. 33 LSR), Johnson (3 stars), Houston (3 stars/No. 48 RB/No. 67 LSR) and Warren (4 stars/No. 14 RB/No. 38 LSR)

Quickie thoughts: Following the commitments of Johnson and Houston this week, you would have to think the Longhorns will save a slot for one more big-time prospect and the tea leaves have Warren as that guy.

Wide receivers (three): John Burt (Tallahassee, Florida), Kemah Siverand (Houston Cy Ridge) and Ryan Newsome (Aledo)

Current rankings: Burt (4 stars/No. 6 WR), Siverand (4 stars/No. 20 WR/No. 12 LSR) and Newsome (3 stars/No. 38 WR/No. 49 LSR)

Quickie thoughts: If the Longhorns don't get Burt, I could see them taking only two receivers in this class.

Tight ends (one): Will Gragg (Pine Bluff, Arkansas)

Current rankings: Gragg (4 stars/No. 8 TE)

Quickie thoughts: Gragg's interest in the Longhorns seems to be increasing by the day. I will go ahead and pencil him in here when you consider he will be making at least one more unofficial and official visit before he makes his decision.

Offensive linemen (four): Patrick Vahe (Euless Trinity), Ronnie Major (Huntsville), Toby Weathersby (Houston Westfield) and George Brown (Cincinnati, Ohio)

Current rankings: Vahe (4 stars/No. 13 OG/No. 34 LSR), Major (3 stars), Weathersby (3 stars/No. 17 OG/No. 19 LSR) and Brown (4 stars/No. 13 OT)

Quickie thoughts: Brown is another stab in the dark, but somewhere out there is an out-of-state tackle that the Longhorns are going to get their hands on. Will it be Brown? He's a long-shot at this stage until he visits, but the fourth guy in this class is going to be of his ilk in my mind.

Defensive tackles (three): Bryce English (DeSoto), Darrion Daniels (Dallas Bishop Dunne) and Kingsley Keke (Richmond Bush)

Current rankings: English (3 stars/No. 21 DT/No. 82 LSR), Daniels (4 stars/No. 10 DT/No. 24 LSR) and Keke (3 stars/No. 33 DE/No. 85 LSR)

Quickie thoughts: It is going to take some time to lure in Daniels, but my expectations are Strong is going to make getting the best interior linemen in the state a priority. With Daylon Mack committed to Texas A&M, it makes Daniels a bigger need.

Defensive ends (two): Charles Omenihu (Rowlett) and James Lockhart (Ennis)

Current rankings: Omenihu (3 stars/No. 36 LSR) and Lockhart (4 stars/No. 14 DE/No. 16 LSR)

Quickie thoughts: I keep thinking there are going to be three ends in this class, but for now I'll stick with just these two.

Linebackers (two): Cameron Townsend (Missouri City Ridge Point) and Malik Jefferson (Mesquite Poteet)

Current rankings: Townsend (4 stars/No. 13 OLB/No. 21 LSR) and Jefferson (5 stars/No. 2 OLB/No. 1 LSR)

Quickie thoughts: Yup, I'm putting myself out there on the limb with Jefferson. Just a gut feeling.

Defensive Backs (five): DeShon Elliott (Rockwall Heath), Keivon Ramsey (Converse Judson), Holton Hill (Houston Lamar),Kris Boyd (Gilmer) and Kendall Sheffield (Fort Bend Marshall)

Current rankings: Elliott (3 stars/No. 38 OLB/No. 57 LSR), Ramsey (3 stars/No. 34 S), Hill (3 stars/No. 29 CB/No. 37 LSR), Boyd (4 stars/No. 10 CB/No. 4 LSR) and Sheffield (4 stars/No. 5 CB/No. 2 LSR)

Quickie thoughts: Go ahead and find me another limb for Sheffield, but he's visited Austin numerous times and I believe Strong is going to get a lot of the state's top defensive prospects when the dust clears.
