UGA doesnt have a space for it close to practice facilities as of now. They use the Ramsey (student athletic facility) during practices and it does enough. They are just in gym shoes instead of cleats. It sucks, but it is what it is.....

In all honesty, it hasn't appeared to be too big of a detriment to the team.

The facility's 130+ yard field makes it the largest collegiate indoor practice facility in the nation under one roof. Hank Crisp Indoor has 97,000 square feet of clear space, measuring 20 percent larger than a typical college football field.

Vandy's IPF should be done in October.

That's not for practice. It's for the missing man formation for recruiting. Geez.

We don't have one either and we are in Lightening city much of the year.

There's really no room for one close to the football field and to be honest, we really haven't missed one. Crystal balls can still be had without one.

This whole discussion is turning into a dicke measuring contest when in fact it has a much simpler explanation to it. The universities that are all shown with practice facilities that have full fields featured are all places that inclement weather has a much higher chance of happening. Athens stays pretty well regulated with its temperature and rain all year. Whereas places like Knoxville, Nashville, Columbia (MO), and Baton Rouge deal with snow, hurricanes, and rain at a much higher rate during the football season than east Georgia does. Its really very simple. Gainesville does deal with rain and lightning as well however it is not an epidemic. Would it be nice to have a IPF for the 1-2 times a year that it would be needed? Sure. Is it a necessity? Absolutely not. The only purpose it would really serve is for the official visit weekends for recruits and their families to hear- "Hey, we have a full IPF, just like LSU, UT, etc." When in fact, UGA's recruiting is rarely a problem.

Now about the use of the current indoor multi-use room; it works more as a place that UGA can use for offseason workouts as an extension of the weightroom right off right side of it. The office over looking the room is Mark Richt's office. The couch and the office have a nice view to see the workouts from a distance and not be intruding when he cannot do so according to NCAA guidelines. He would still be able to see who is giving their all at workouts, who are the leaders and still stay at a distance. It is all relative. I realize this is too much sensibility for this board, however it will not change anything in Athens anytime soon. McGarity has stated numerous times that and IPF is not a priority in Athens. He buttered his bread for many years under Jeremy Foley in Gainesville, and he believes that it is not an indoor practice facility that wins games nor championships, and I think that Foley has proven that to be true. I imagine McGarity feels prett much the same.

I'm not familiar with all the NCAA rules. What is this rule?
