So long as the money continues to be spread to the rest of campus. I know UGA has just completed a brand new 3 story dining hall, is in the process of a 3 phase College of Business project, is beginning another 3 phase Science Center project, and is completing a massive Vet school build out. I know most of the funds have come from fundraising efforts, but I like to think that athletics has helped at least in some way.

Only the Military Service Acadamies have a higher percentage of graduates buying class rings. Over 95% of A&M grads wear one, and it really stands out to Former Students. I graduated in 1977, and traveled in the Army and on business for over 30 years. On almost every trip I made (Germany, France, Iraq, Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, Africa, Australia, et al) in that time, invariably another Ag, or a family member of an Ag, or somebody who recognizes the ring, will come up and start a conversation, offer rides to and from hotels, etc. My mother just had knee surgery, and when we walked into the surgeons office for the first consult, the surgeon saw my ring, and started yammering away about the good ol days (he was a graduate of Baylor and A&M).
The Association of Former Students uses it as a major symbol to highlight it as a symbol that connects all Ags. It actually is very, very effective in doing that.

Buying, maybe (because I think they're required to).
Wearing, not so much. I'd say I've seen only about 1 out of every 8 West Pointers who wear their ring on a regular basis, where with Aggies it's almost an inspectable item.

I never really payed much attention to who was from WUPoU, or any other school while I was on active duty. My brother was a West Pointer, and he still has his on. Another brother went to UF, and he never takes his off. Maybe its just a family thing with class rings.
What year did you go to CGSC? I slept through a good chunk of 94 and 95 there. The only class I liked was history, the rest was just a plot by the Army to keep me off the golf course.

Graduated in 2010. I think I was the 2nd or third class after they demolished Bell Hall.
I actually thought it was the only Army school in which I actually learned something. Especially the L-block case studies (obviously the curriculum changed in the time between your stint and mine) and the electives. Got a 3Y identifier out of it as well as a Master's Degree.

Oh Jeez, you're one of THOSE guys, the ones who went to CGSC with an agenda….
By the time I got to CGSC I had been a Battalion S3 twice and an XO once, commanded a Signal Company, an Artillery Battery and a provisional Signal Battalion. Already had a couple of Masters degrees (still cannot figure out why I bothered to get them), and was ready to coast for a year.
And I would hope they changed the curriculum, it was mind numbing when I was there, and the worst was tactics. Just numbing.
Met some interesting folks there, a couple of my section made it to GO.

Yep we spread our athletics money to the acedemics significantly as well which is awesome. This is from an article in the fall of '12 but the agreement is still in place today:

Ole Miss broke ground on the new arena today. LSU's going to have the worst arena in the SEC after we tear down our old one. Are there any plans to replace the Maravich Center?

Agenda?
I lucked into a slot as a promotable Captain right out of command because my branch couldn't fill its allocation.
Figured it was my best chance to get an MBA. The 3Y was a bonus. Webster let me go to class on Monday and Thursday evenings.
Did just enough to stay above an A average and chilled the rest of the way.

No reason to right now...the PMAC is fine. We just did a complete renovation of the inside including all new seats, restrooms, ceiling tile etc in 2010
Also built a brand new state of the art basketball operations/practice facility connected to the PMAC

Along with practice gyms, Men's basketball has a locker room and training room in the facility. In addition the the locker and training rooms, there is a media/press room and team video room for team meetings.

Easy boy, just in my staff group we had two, count them two, high speed guys trying for the white brief case and three trying for Masters. Damn near wore us out clearing the road for them.
Glad to hear you got in and out early. I got deferred twice because I was critically needed and could not be released. Read that we were understaffed.
