I'd prefer if all of them stay, but... if we were to lose a DE I'd prefer it to be the smallest, lowest ranked and most unheralded one...

Here's the finalists for Mr. Football this year ... not sure if we're in on any of these or even if they are worth it or whatever:
Finalists for Mr. Football are: Zack Bailey (Summ) Kelly Bryant (Wren) Matthew Colburn (DF) Dupree Hart (NW) JJ Arcega-Whiteside (Dorman)

Bailey is committed to us and one of the top players in the state.
Haven't heard of the others I don't think

He's committed to Stanford and he's a big time WR. He's having an incredible Sr season.

Dupree Hart (NW)
Probably one of the best skill position players in the state, but he's undersized for football and I think he'd going to CofC for baseball.

Well looks like we just lost Davon Durant to ASU or thats what I am reading. Sucks losing a talent like him.

You beat me to it..... Yea we just lost Durant. He uploaded a pic of him and some ASU stuff to twitter so I'm sure it's official. I wish we could've held onto him..

The PK article has his comments. They baffle me. He said that we're returning a lot of LB's next year...duh, you could've predicted the same amount returning 10 months ago when he wanted to be here.
ASU sold DE Caldwell a while back that it's easier to enroll at asu as oppowsed to SC, but that ended up not being right and he couldn't get in there.
This sucks in that if Durant would've been cool with RS'ing this season, he could've been the starter for 1-2 years after that. ASU is telling him he'll get there and start right away.
One thing that Botkin said to him is kindof telling. Botkin told him that if he chnged his mind, to call him. With some other recruits we told them that even though they committed, we were still going to pursue them. Maybe this was one of those things where he just wasn't a priority and we let things slide? IDK. Maybe we are making room for Roquan Smith.

247 is making it sound like a purely academic issue. He can get into ASU in January rather easily while he would have to do some work to do the same here. Something about the PAC12 having an easier admission process for JC players than the SEC?

The PAC-12 really does have some elite academic institutions in their conference, however the two AZ schools are not a part of that. You ever googled ASU girls? They have a big reputation for being a "party school"

Sherrod Pittman broke his leg tonight in a game, hoping he'll have a speedy recovery.

Wow..hate to hear that. Didn't he just recover from another injury? Possibly a knee? Maybe that was someone else. I certainly hope he heals up fast. That's just awful.

JUCO #1 DT DJ Jones is still committed to FSU, but is looking around at a few SEC teams, which are Auburn, Ole Miss, & South Carolina.

I know more and more schools are going to JuCos these days, but it's still dangerous to overdo the JuCo thing.
If they are very highly rated, can't miss type talent ... then yeah.
If they have three years to play two or, even better, three years to play three ... then super yeah.
If they can enroll early and take part in Spring drills ... then yeah.
If they are of a very high character, leaders, one who adds to good chemistry rather than disrupts existing chemistry ... then yeah.
But you gotta be very careful when it comes to JuCo talent.

OT Austin Clark flipped to Virginia Tech this afternoon.
From Tony Morrell on 247:
- Darius Slayton will have his official visit with us when we play at home against South Alabama.
From Tony Morrell on 247:

I was told there are personal reasons why Clark needs to stay closer to home.
