West Coast Ag - and when they did all that they had it all. They are the ones who started sniffing at the Pac 12 first. Now they still say A&M sold out? So every school is supposed to wait, but you can be shopping around all you want.

To say A&M sold out is like saying Marky Mark sold out by leaving the Funky Bunch.

Texas had more money and resources than any team. The only was they could lose was to implode on the inside in such catastrophic fashion that nobody knows wtf happened. They drove away all their conference staples except 1. Have games not on TV and their big home rival is Baylor.

Mack is lost. Texas fans are fricked. I don't care if they win a Natty. They will probably get there because they have talent and they have a 10 team goat conference with no CG. But they are Boise now. If I lived in Austin and was a Horn fan I would be fricking livid. Nice conference.

History will look back at this as the biggest frick up by administration in the history of sports. No reason for this to have happened to Texas except arrogance, greed and group kool aid. Everyone needs us and wants us everyone is jealous of us.

No - everyone thinks you are douce bags.

Does Brown's sentiment have anything to do with hiring a rather high amount HS coaches as off-field assistants (I think for the sole purpose of recruiting). Before flame war...quite a few schools are doing this now I believe so not singling out UA. The following two articles are a good read Maxpreps and NY Times
quote:

The wave of new hires comes in the wake of new NCAA rules that lessen restrictions on recruiting, including the size of schools' recruiting staffs.

=============
As a side note...does this leave open a door to hiring a guy to steer current/former HS players?

If anyone other than the head coach of Texas had made this statement, it might have some credence, but Brown looks childish here. Texas could double the size of their support staff tomorrow if they really wanted.

Mack Brown has been a little bitch ever since Bob Stoops started regularly beating his arse in the early 2000s with the spread.

Basically, he knows his days are numbered what with our resurgence and OU's continued blowouts of them every year in the old Cotton Bowl. His attempt to run a HUNH offense this year is indicative of his desperation.

He is a legend in Texas, but his glory days have come and gone. Stoops, Gundy, Patterson and Sumlin have surpassed him.

Is he referring to the former high-school coaches that were hired to help build relations with pipeline high-schools (or talent pool high-schools)? If so, Auburn, mainly Gus Malzahn, just did so with a good number of them to help recruiting. Jay Jacobs actually allowed someone to do something productive without derping it up.

how has no one pointed out that Texas does the exact same thing, including hiring Mr. Shipley among other people? They have like 5-7 people as support staff for recruiting and analysis last time I saw it posted.

Expert assistants for the assitants? Really? Thought they were supposed to be "non coaching support"

Freakin ridiculous. So why don't they hire an additional 21 to support the expert assistant to the assistants?

Duh! You're right, it was 1/3 of the conference. I wasn't counting A&M as a charter member because I was thinking back to the old Big 8. But you're right, it was a charter member of the big 12.

Texas screwed everyone in the conference, and ended up screwing themselves worst of all. I have no fricks to give for anything Mack Brown or DeLoss Dodds says, and thankfully I don't have to because we escaped to the promised land.
