The articles stop in 1971, way before you guys were worth a crap. Typical Nole spin. Keep researching and you will find it.

A little help to jog your memory. FSU had their chance, and personally, I hope that you get another one, but I doubt it.

“I like to win games, and I can’t think of a tougher place to do that than the SEC.” - Bobby Bowden, Atlanta Journal Constitution, 8/3/90

living in florida, i've come to realize FSU's fan base is a much better fit for the SEC than UF's is.

Hell no. The Clown School would drag our academics down to a record low. Remember that the Clwon School usaed to be called the Florida State College for Women until 1947...its always been a crappy little sister...although the women folk were plundered by UF males on a regular basis.

The Clown School is short on money and long on trapeze artists and clown makeup...it is an actual class and honestly their media relations & journalism school aint bad.

UF doesnt want them...they are not getting into the SEC...unless Ga Tech gets by UGA and gets in and then Clemson gets pass the USC crowd...in other words...nada chance...read up on SEC history my friend.

Wait, you honestly don't believe FSU turned down the SEC's offer? Bowden has openly admitted it numerous times.

He felt, and at the time he was right, that the easiest path to the NC was to the remain in the ACC. It's no secret, why do FSU fans deny this?

FSU averages above 90% attendance on the season and is the top 20 in total, Miami averages just above 50%. I think you might be mistaken

Eh, maybe reported ticket purchases but no chance in hell that's attendance. Those stadiums are graveyards against anyone not Clemson, VT, Miami or Florida.

I was never impressed by Shannon. I am by Golden and it just seems different with Golden. It seems his praises are being sung a lot louder and he is now selling a couple of strong pitches.

1. Miami is a great place to live and play at a small school and live in a pretty exclusive desirable area (the Gables) along with bringing Miami back.

2. The NCAA sanctions are done (pretty much are).

3. Stability. He stuck with Miami and is committed even though he could have jumped ship to greener pastures when the NCAA bomb hit, which was no fault of his own.

I am getting the impression his message is resonating down here. We will see, but I am expecting Miami's recruiting to pick up a LOT, especially in Dade and Broward which is pretty much the King of high school football in the country.

Golden is a damn good coach, but he has his work cutout for him.

Miami is a much harder place to win at than people believe. The facilities are HORRIBLE. An off-campus stadium is a joke to anyone who takes CFB seriously. Their fan support is a joke.

I think he'll do well there, but no one will ever return them to their once proud level.

Take a look at the Swamp when UF plays the tomato cans Foley habitually lines up. Not exactly filled to capacity.

NO! Miami!!!

NO! I HATE Miami with a passion! Almost as much as I hate Notre Dame.

I'd puke hearing "The U!" shouted over and over and over. Almost as bad as hearing THE Ohio State University. Notre Dame, Ohio State and Miami are (In my opinion) the three most arrogant schools in the country, with Southern Cal pulling in a close second.
