I would be surprised if Wallace is even starting for Ole Miss six games into the season.

Why?

As well as LSU recruits, why can't they field a better QB?

It all stems of the Perriloux debacle, its back on course with the past few years of recruiting. Not that it matters we won the SEC with matt mauck and Jordan Jefferson.

This is what I keep telling people.

When Ryan Perrilloux, who was supposed to be the next great LSU quarterback, was kicked off the team, LSU was forced to start their next best option(s), Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson. I don't think I'm the only one who assumes they were thrown in the fire too quickly, and they never really had time to truly develop. Not to mention, after they had both started for a certain amount of years, it seems that the LSU coaching staff had a bond and formal trust with the players. There's no way a new quarterback would've jumped them. Them being there for several years (2008-2011) really makes us forget how well Matt Flynn, Ryan Perrilloux, and Jamarcus Russell played. I will say that both Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee had their moments of being really good, it was just never sustained.

That post turned out longer than expected.

I think a lot of people doubt if they were ever really SEC caliber starting quarterbacks. They also had Crowton and an O-line coach as coordinators. No QB coach whatsoever until Kragthorpe came in, and he obviously had serious issues of his own.

ETA: What we accomplished with them 2 taking snaps for 4 years is impressive.

Well, it should be understandable that following in the footsteps of a 4-time Heisman winner like Perrilloux is a very tall order.....

Hmmm. Well I'd damn sure take Mett over White Jordan Jefferson. Not sure why he's at 6. He's awful. And I'd consider Mett over Bro the turn over machine.

Why would an elite QB want to go to LSU? All they do is hand the ball off. Maybe it will change with the new "up tempo" offense?

What?

Perrilloux was good. Losing him set us back. This shouldn't be hard to understand.

This has not always been the case.

Manziel threw 77 more passes than Mettenberger. Which averages out to a difference of just 6 passes more per game.

Bad wing. Do you actually think Wallace will be throwing better than last year. This and a difficult early schedule will have the Ole Miss fan base screaming for Brunnetti to start.

When exactly did Driskel play well? I don't remember it ever happening. Both played pretty terribly at points, but at least Mett showed glimpses of being a great QB against a very good Bama defense and in a few other games.

Mett threw for a thousand more yards last year too and got plenty of more reps passing the ball than Driskel

He progressed fast as frick from Bowling Green to A&M to Tennessee to Kentucky.

Then the LSU game happened which set offense back 100 years and he fell off a cliff.

The only other decent game he had the rest of the season was against FSU.

He beat Vanderbilt with his legs.

Hahahahahahaha

Did you SEE 2011 OM Football?? Brunetti couldn't beat out Randall Mackey for the starting job. He will never start unless Bo has his arms ripped clean the frick off.

And, yes, Bo will throw better than last year. 3000+ yards through the air and over 500 on the ground at the end of 2013.

I really thought jerrod Johnson was going to come back strong from his shoulder surgery, and it took him nearly a year and a half to recover. I wish we would have started tannehill earlier, but Sherman was a very loyal guy. Cross your fingers that bo either fully recovers immediately or is clearly not ready or you'll waste half a season :|

Yeah. All reports have been really good so far. He had the surgery in January, so he's had a while to recover.

We should know in Fall Ball where he stands. He'll be as close to full speed as he's going to get by then.

I agree Brunetti sucks. I think you guys are crazy to think Bo is not going to miss a beat after surgery. He will struggle and Ole miss has very lofty expectations.
