This is probably a better question for softball fans. It's funny that comments like this are made all of the time when the "majority of Americans don't give a frick".

FIFY. Baseball is not nearly as irrelevant as Bama fans desperately want it to be.
Oh rly? Next time you're out in public, ask the first ten LSU fans you see what the name of the LSU baseball coach is. Then ask a variety of college fans who's currently playing the CWS.
Yes, baseball is more irrelevant because it's a stupid and boring sport. You can keep telling yourself how relevant it is all you want, but ratings and attendance figures prove otherwise. Just accept the fact that nobody gives a shite about it, including the vast majority of your very own fanbase. If it was as popular as you dream it is, then the stadium would be as large as Tiger Stadium and the ratings would rival a Florida vs. LSU football game. Nobody can endure such a boring game unless they once played it apparently.
Where in the hell do you get this notion that it's a popular sport? By an internet message board where primarily only the die-hards post?

This might be one the dumbest things ever said on here. Ask UK fans what the most popular sport at UK is, and then check out the seating capacity of Rupp Arena and Commonwealth Stadium.

As much as it sucks that we didn't make it to Omaha this year, I'm still watching it. GEAUX Tigers!

Yea, I love the CWS. By the end of the MSU-OSU game Saturday I had already watched more of the CWS than The last 2 Final Fours prolly.
I was hoping y'all would make it. If UNC sends us home tomorow, I will really of wished y'all would of made it.
Good luck next year. I'm sure y'all will still continue to be a regular up there in Omaha.

You know what's really awesome? When schools with 1/10 your athletic budget try to be decent in all three major men's sports and do it more times than not.

Oh I'm sure. I lived in ACC country for 12 years. I learned very quickly the hate for UNC. Almost rivals VA Tech for me.
And I hate UNC even more, everytime I have to root for Duke(2-3 times a years)

To the OP - no.
I think what's happening is that CBB is immensely popular in certain pockets but none more so than the SECW sans Bama/Auburn (and I expect that to change soon). And I would venture a guess that USCe feels a kinship here.
We debate teams, stadiums, attendance, ERAs, players, matchups, series, and on and on. To be sure, baseball has a different dynamic than football. What one finds in the SECW is baseball in its purest expression. And for now, I'm enjoying the ride.

Pawww What's baseball
Maybe. Then again, Alabama could stop playing football for a few decades and still have a better football history than LSU.
