If I may interject on a perfectly dimwitted argument over a kid whom doesn't sign scholarship papers for almost 2 full years; to respond to this post. I am lost on what the point of your post may be. You are saying that just because USC did not offer Jacob Park and he is committed to UGA, that somehow that doesn't validate that he is still a consensus #1 QB recruit in a state that shares it borders with said university?

Hypothetically speaking that is the equivalent of saying that just because UGA was not looking for a DE in the 2013 class, and the staff always believed he was headed out of state (as most did I am sure); the decision was made to not offer a scholarship to Robert Nkemdiche. Who happens to reside within the confines of the same state as said university. Does a non-offer by the instate school make his ranking any less valid?

Just wonderding.

Keep up, I don't like explaining how to use context clues.

OP basically said USC was recruiting well in GA (picked up the #3 WDE in the nation, from GA.)

In response to SCRooster, Deeprig said, "So we get SC's #1 qb to commit and enroll early for 2014, and you get a lineman to commit for 2015, and Spur is "getting it done in Georgia""

Now if you've posted on the SECr since Deeprig has been around, you would know that he has a healthy appetite to troll USC (to be fair, he did it to clemson too on taternet.)

Jacob Park isn't in GA, and has nothing to do with USC recruiting in GA, but Deeprig brought up Park's commitment in a "but we also got one of your's," way... atleast I believe that's why he would post something like that. You don't believe that Deeprig would post something like that thinking that Park was in GA, or worse that SC was a part of GA, do you? Deeprig's a solid troller, I think he knew exactly what he was doing.

So, my response to Deeprig was directed in regards the context of "we got one of yours," and I pointed out that we didn't offer the kid.

Key is a very good prospect , but there's a question as to how well he fits UGA's defensive system. He's a much better fit as a DE in a 4-3 than an OLB in a 3-4.

This is true, there are many different people that would fit one of our systems better than the other. Like last year, Griffin was a great DT in HS and at Top 10 DT in the nation, but he's a smaller DT, so he can't play nose in a 3-4, and he wasn't the in the ideal length range to play 3-4 DE.

This year we are seeing a similar situation develop with Gaillard. UGA wants him to play DE in their 3-4 scheme, but his size/speed is more suited for a NT/DT.

We didn't offer Park because he's reportedly a left-handed kid that throws right-handed, and Spurrier doesn't like to coach left-handed QBs....

You'd be hard pressed to top AU's from last year.. You'll have a good group though, no doubt.

Agreed, plus, in all honesty, he was referring to SCAR and it perhaps being one of our best DLine classes ever.

If we sign everyone already committed, plus those who are leaning our way, in Feb 2015, then it will probably go-down as one of our best DLine classes ever. But you just never know and we're still a long ways away from Feb 2015.

I'm never one to deal in absolutes ... not even when referring to uga or aTm fans.

Gotcha... Doesn't Clowney count as two 5* though? I'd say he's your best DL class ever

Fair point. He was so good, it is like having multiple high level recruits. Although, if we start bringing in ways to unquantifiable measure the additional value of recruits, the Recruiting Board will turn into the "VOLS JUST SIGN 9tth 12STAR PLAYER" Recruit Board.

I think we signed Clowney, Dukes, the Dixon brothers, Deon Green, Kelcey Quarles ... all of them in that 2011 class. We'll be hard pressed to ever sign a better overall DLine class IMHO. But this 2015 class is shaping-up to be close.
