don't recall Osborne, Bryant, Paterno, Bowden ever having designs on NFL

I am sure they were all offered at some point.
The story goes that Bryant was offered the Miami job in the late 60's....Bear was in a bit of a slump between his dynasties and very nearly took it....they ended up hiring some guy named Shula.

and in 2011 Alabama finished 3rd in the SEC. Not a bad year for Bama but certainly not up to Bama standards.

Long time ago but it seems I remember hearing that when Bear had that dip there were some that wanted him gone. Fortunately, for UA, there was a better sense of 'through thick and thin' back then (in general) than there is today.

Bama fans trashing other schools by saying they are lucky?

Difference is Alabama actually took home some crystal hardware at the end of the year

What did A&M take home? Please stop making comparisons like that

IDK, does 14-0 + 10-3 + 12-1 + 13-1 sound like luck to you?

ETA 12-2 before that.

But Jerry Jones can pay more than any college. Not to mention, if Romo continues to be Romo, Jones would love to draft JFF. My opinion is, Dallas goes looking for a new coach(Sumlin) as soon as JFF declares for the NFL

Romo is not, has never been, and never will be the problem with the Cowboys. He is in Dallas for at least 2 or 3 more years with the big deal he just singed anyway.

An idiot lap dog HC, yes men as assistants, and Jerry as GM are the issue.

Jerry actually said earlier this year the Cows could save money on the o-line b/c Romo can make plays with his feet. The fact that Jerry cannot recognize the shitty line directly leads to more turnovers and losses b/c it forces Romo to try to do too much is mind boggling.

All of that said, drafting JFF and hiring Sumlin is exactly the kind of thing Jerry would try to do. I'm just not sure Sumlin would agree to do it with how much control Jerry wants to have over the team.

yea lets just pretend nothing like a Baylor upset over KSU, OSU being on a bowl ban, or Okie Light being upset by ISU never happened.

And the bridge schedules? Totally random and fair.

No luck there at all.

Get outta here with that Bama had no luck crap.

It definitely was reported.

Considering most schools don't have more than 2 titles, I would say, no.

not at all.

I'm just dumbfounded that there are so many delusional Bama fans who can't comprehend they had to back in arse first to the last two title games they made.

When you have to rely on other teams losing in upsets to get in you are lucky. There is literally no way around that.

Other teams losing to allow your team into the national title picture equals lucky? Well in that case for K State, Oregon, and ND your upset over us was just lucky.

You're completely ignoring how statistically unlikely, even if you are favored in every game, it is to go undefeated. Other teams losing wasn't lucky. It was mathematically expected.

Rule #1 of making yourself look like an idiot:

- Swear up and down that you know what your head coach will do in the future and profess how much he loves is current "dream job."

Coaches are nomads chasing money, championships, and fame very few are as loyal as fan bases make them out to be.
