Well, he was 7'1". He's got that.

Hell, I was gonna go back to Stipo as the only true center. Well, center that did more than just be tall.

Gill-Caesar article re: contemplating reclassifying

Says he's 50/50 on it.

My take is probably obvious.

If he reclassifies...he's coming to Mizzou. Everyone else has pretty much stopped recruiting him for the class of 2014. The only thing that has changed is Fulford and Mizzou getting involved.

If he doesn't reclassify...he's not coming to Mizzou. There is no purpose to stay in high school one more year just to go to the same college you could go to now. All that does is delay any NBA hopes and $$$ by another year. So the only reason to stay is if you are looking to end up somewhere other than where you can be right now, i.e. Kentucky, Indiana, wherever.

A high school coaches take on AAU basketball. Not necessarily Mizzou recruiting related, but thought it was insightful and had some good points.

On a personal level, I agree with almost everything he says. 99% of AAU teams are just money grabs. There are so many AAU teams that unless you are on the top team, it is pointless and simply an ego stroke, more for the parents than the kids, to say they played AAU.

I have also seen the no defense, all about me mentality. My kid's not even in high school yet and an example of the coaching he's gotten from those kind of coaches:
**We're not going to coach or preach defense because that's not what the game is about anymore.
**Our offense is...get the ball and either shoot or drive to the basket. Encouraged EVERYONE, even the kids that couldn't shoot from more than 5 feet from the basketball to shoot 3's or encouraged the kid that couldn't dribble the ball through cones to drive through 3 defenders to go to the hoop.

Needless to say, we don't play for them anymore.

Tatum talking potential package deals

Probably not a good sign for Mizzou. We have a hard enough time getting one of these type of players, much less 2, 3 or 4.

Tatum article discussing staying home

Unfortunately, he really only references SLU and what it would mean for local kids and people in STL.

He did. Didn't mean to sound like he didn't. But the only school HE mentions by name is SLU. SLU will be in the running until the end, bottom line. Hopefully, with KA, Fuller and Fulford, we'll be in the running to the end as well.
