The network that employs Steven A. Smith and Skip Bayless isn't too concerned about objectivity.
ESPN wants ratings, and Finebaum has gotten his ratings by being a Bama homer/mega-troll. He's not going to change his approach, and ESPN doesn't want him to.
In fact, who even knows whether he really believes A&M can't beat Bama? I'd say his schtick requires him to confidently predict a Bama victory.

You laugh but he really is not a Bama fan.
He made a living off the Auburn andd Bama fanbases by attaching himself to the better program. Rarely are Bama and Au really good at the same time.
In the early 2000's during the Debose and Shula years, he was a huge AU homer and Bama fans hated his guts.
He is guaranteed ratings by doing so.
The book Rammer Jammer(whish is really good) talks about this time frame.

Not to mention he's a Tennessee grad.

I thought I read I read in the article posted the other day that would take his normal 2-6 timeslot and be on radio in Birmingham.
I hope not. That would probably mean WNSP would pick that show up down in Mobile too.
I've had enough of FBaum. Sure some of the callers can be funny, but I won't be sitting around for a few hours just to hear what a select few will say.
Keep it off, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
just keep with the Roundtable, I've enjoyed that show.

Every single person on here talks shite about finebaum, evidently he is doing something right for ESPN to throw tons of money at him

how do people listen to caller driven shows? pretty much any show where they go to a caller is my cue to change the station.
I guess you have never listened to Moscona

He is a Bama fan, grew up a Bama fan, said it on his show for years, but went to UT for instate tuition, etc...
Remember he is from MEMPHIS..

I actually hope he is at that time. I don't see WWL putting him up against their show on 870

well yeah... look... I don't hate the guy.
its just that show has been on the air here for a long time. You probably haven't listened to it very long. Trust me, it gets old.
I used to think to myself a few years ago that I would like it more if they didn't have it from like March-June. There were plenty of times where they didn't have shite to talk about. I mean I don't want to hear his opinion on baseball or the NBA playoffs.

You're right, and if he still had his Springer-esque radio show in birmingham it'd be no problem. But he's in the big time now on ESPN and should have at least SOME semblance of impartiality. Saying "it should be a great game but I think bama will likely have the edge" is different than "they're not! Not gonna happen!"
In his mind -- and he's stated it time and again -- he is successful because of who he is and his style. He's not going to change because of his success if the reason he is a success is how he is now.
