No need to get your panties in a bunch. I just think its funny people think they are experts in something they have at best minimal knowledge of.

Edit: not an AL player, but not having Elisha Shaw in the top 100 is retarded. He must have skipped their camp.
I have no true idea of why the drop but it would not surprize me if it was because of the porn thing, and no I am not saying it is a legit reason to drop a player.

State of Alabama has 6 of the new top 100.... GA with 9... FL with 10.

Alabama always has top end players, but will never have the depth that Georgia or Florida has. The better comparison is to look at the 250.

If Hamilton committed to Auburn or Tennesse, I don't see him jumping into the top 40 and would be debatable to be in the top 100. I think that is the point people are making.

Alabama has a long way to go to be in the conversation of HS talent with Georgia.

Hmm dont know whats soo funny but I saw a interview on signing day by T. Luginbill talking about how if you go back and look at the amount of kids that go to the NFL out of Alabama you would be surprised. Its a lot of guys in the league that didnt get highly recruited.

I would be interested to see if they had grade or other issues. Not that these issues only come from AL recruits, just curious.

This happens in Louisiana a lot too. Mainly with defensive backs. Guys that end up at 1AA schools and whatnot.

But an Alabama example would be Ware and Umeniora (sp), I don't know what their grade situation was, but it's surprising that they both came out of Opelika and didn't end up at a bigger school than Troy. Specifically Auburn.

I love the stories of the undersized kids who didn't play much ball...only to fricking blow up at a small school and kill it in the league.

I'm pretty sure both were extremely undersized at the time. I know Ware also played WR in HS

So did Karlos Dansby and Donterrius Thomas. Reggie Torbor was a running back.

Either way, as scouting gets better, and camps and things like that get more common, I think those kinds of stories will be fewer and farther between. We still may see undersized guys blow up, or grade risks get their act together. But it's becoming tougher and tougher to actually be under the radar nowadays.

I think they did some major growning physically in college to become the players they are.

My brother coaches high school football and they had a kid that may end up being like those guys. He's going play JC baseball though. He's like 6' 185 and played linebacker. But he's graduating HS at 16 years old. His dad is like 6'5" and his mom is about 5'11".

This kid is going to be in his sophomore year of college and grow another 4 inches. Jered Weaver showed up to Long Beach St at 6'2".

Back in the day, you may hear about a kid from somewhere else in your state if you were a football nut who talked about ball at the Lions Club meeting or whatever...

Rivals/247/message boards have damn sure changed things.

I'm sure dominating a camp that included Williams didn't hurt. Don't you think?

I think AU recruited Ware as a TE or something and Osi was undersized so they both decided to go together

But it happens all over

Robert Mathis from Atlanta, went to Alabama A&M

Justin Tuck went to ND

Earl Bennett went to Vandy

Phillip Rivers went to NC State

Kerry Rhodes from Lanier HS went to Lousville

A LOT of guys get out of state

My brother in law went to Benjamin Russell with Terrell Owens. Said that while he was known to be super athletic, he sucked at football in HS compared to his athletic potential. Said that no one expected him to even make it to the league. He just was another athletic Owens boy and that was it
