Until we have a MAJOR baseball facility overhaul.
Watching this LSU vs Ole Miss Baseball game makes me realize how much we lack compared to the top tier baseball teams in the league.
There is NO way we can competitively recruit against teams like LSU, South Carolina, etc... in baseball.
I suppose a new stadium is a start... but I hope it doesn't stop there.

Have you not heard about Sewell-Thomas being basically rebuilt? $30 million

Completely agree. Battle's supposed to present a facility overhaul in the next few months

Yes, that's what I was referencing when I said a new stadium would be a start. But ESPN was showing the inside of LSU's baseball complex... we're severely lacking. Not sure what all that Sewell-Thomas renovation will include, but I hope it at least makes us look like a competitive SEC baseball program.

I reckon it would look like a $30 million stadium.

No drawing have been released, but for that much money, you can expect some serious improvements

can someone explain the lottery thing and why it doesn't seem to hinder any other sport's recruiting? (do not pay attention to baseball in the slightest, sorry)

I'd be satisfied with an attempt at "going after" anyone. Anything but another gift-wrapped job for an average coach.

Thankfully baseball is one of the gayest sports known to man, so only a few people give two fricks....

Generally speaking, I'd actually agree with you. But after seeing the quality of LSU's facilities, I'm almost embarrassed by our own. There is no excuse for one of the premier schools in the SEC - a school who is near the top of the list of total wins in baseball - to have such poor facilities.

i don't think it's the stadium/facilities. LSU just got their new stadium and it didn't matter before. Bama just needs teh right coach.
Had they won in 97', it would have been a lot different for the future. that was one hell of a team, just happened that LSU had one too.

Its hard to recruit against LSU is baseball ... The tradition, the facilities, and the fanbase make LSU a top 3 destination for high school baseball players. Thats why LSU really has the pick of the litter at a national stage. Bregman should be in the pros right now but he decided if he were to go to college he wanted to be at a program like LSU.
