Golf: What's in your bag?

I just picked these beauties up on eBay for $450. Ordered the combo set and they sent all blades. Said if I liked them they'd give me partial discount and if i didn't to send them back for a full refund. Got them through global golf and thy were listed as "fine" condition which is one step below mint. However, i think the 7,8, and PW were the only clubs that were hit. They are in perfect shape. Retail for $999, and it looks like i'll get them for around $250 when it's all said and done. I was worried I couldn't handle the long irons but they performed great yesterday. They're about a club longer than the mizuno mp60s I replaced. Super pumped about playing these. The 588's don't get talked about a lot, so I figured I'd give them a little pub.
Really forgiving for a blade, too. Super smooth and responsive.

I still to this day swing my grandfathers clubs. Titleist woods and irons with a 1972 Arnold Palmer limited edition bag. They look old, but I don't mind. The woods have a sweet spot about the size of a aspirin but if you hit it you will know, the ball just disappears in the horizon. I probably should update to a newer set and retire my grandads clubs, but It's like golfing with the old guy still.

That's awesome. Are the woods persimmon? Maple? I've got an old set of McGeggor blades and Wilson maple woods at my folks' house my brother handed down to me.
You can't beat the feeling of a classic wood caught "on the screws."
I know where a solid set of mizunos is, if you're interested

I have a mixed bag. Some are palmers, some are a no name test set my dad got his hands on. They look and hit like Callaways though. Cleveland HiBore XL driver 10.5. I really want a Diablo 8 degree w/ a draw setup though. The Cleveland is decent, if I really get after it I can reach 310. Not as far as some drivers I have had in the past. My dad had a knock off of the original taylormade bubble shaft with a offset head. I could kill that thing in highschool. 300-315 was average. long was 345.

you know, I never really wondered. I would have to guess maple given the look of the wood. I know that because of those clubs I can not hit a big head driver. Just that skinny ol' 1 wood. The velocity I can swing it at really boosts my distances on drives. Big head drivers feel light but bulkier and I have to tee the ball up high to not hit the ground with them. If I ever really update it would just be the irons. Was looking at a used Nike set at Edwin Watts the other day. I think I am stuck with those woods for eternity.

Nice set. I play with a set of Callaway X-22s, but I use Cleveland wedges.

I hear ya. However, you can find some drivers that aren't too over the top size-wise. I know Adams and some older TM clubs make smaller CC heads. They'll take getting used to but I think you'd be glad if you got away from the true woods. There's so much to chose from these days.

I don't really play enough anymore to justify clubs. In the last 3 years I've played 6 times and haven't played yet this year.
Clubs are:
irons Titleist CB.62 (I actually can't remember is that is the right number or not) these are the ones that look like a blade but are cavity back
Wedges are 58 and 62 Cleveland Classics
hybrids are 3 and 4 Nickent
Driver and 3wd are Nike SQ or something like that.
Might have a Nike 5wd as well. I really can't remember.
I really need to get them out and play some.

King Cobra Oversize II Irons
Callaway Big Bertha Hawkeye Driver (old school but still hot)
Titleist Vokey Wedges
Odyssey putter
I haven't played in a few years but have been talking to a few friends about going here lately. I've played disc golf for the past 3 years. It's alot like golf but much cheaper.

I carry a cooler.
I'd play frickin terrible drinking whiskey. I'd probably start trying to mimic Furyk's swing and shank up the joint.
Natty light for me all day.

at you for putting liquor in a golf bag. That's just wacky.
I used to carry a gun in my bag. When I worked for the sheriff's office a few years ago there was a course that would let LEO's play for free because they liked the added security of having cops around. The course is near downtown Jackson with some rough neighborhoods around.

I have had my clubs since I started playing, and need to upgrade badly.
Driver: Nike SQ Dymo 2 9.5 degree (got it for 50 bucks)
5 wood: ping i3 17 degree
Irons: O-size ping i3 3-P
wedges: 54 and 60 degree Cleveland 588
putter: Old TaylorMade nubbins M4
nxt tour or proV1 depending on conditions and how I have been hitting it lately
I am looking to get a new driver, woods, and iron set. Already decided on the driver and woods, but not sure where to start with the irons. Is it worth it to get fitted? I was awful when I started but now shoot upper 70s to low 80s consistently and need something with more playability.
