It is your own University saying it is broke. Why do you think they consolidated the Athletic Departments. You are correct about the revenue side but forgot the spending side. UT is like Obama who is collecting more revenue than ever but spending it at even a faster rate. UT has a huge disadvantage of being at the mercy of politicians and taxpayers who want money spent on massive social issues. This is why your endowment is so low and why the Athletic Department has been forced to gift enormous resources to the academic side. If you understand anything about politics, then you understand this will never change.

No, our stupid chancellor, Jimmy Cheek, has been siphoning money from the athletic department to the academic side. He pretty much drained the reserves dry.

That practice was halted late last year.

We still have money. The boosters now "pay direct", for lack of a better term, to keep Jimmy Cheek's grubby paws off it. Charlie Anderson ponied up millions for the new Anderson Training Center. It went straight to the fund to build the center.

We're still well heeled.
