there are some saying Spurrier and Urban. ONe is past his prime and is older then NS right, and the other quit on the UF team because of heart issues. Not sure I would touch those 2 with a ten foot poll and they agreed to coach for free.
David Shaw and James Franklin if he has a few more good years.
Peterson has been offered most major jobs that have come open in the last few years and I don't see him moving to an area that he has no connections to.
When NS retires there will be names coming out of the woodworks to take the job. There may be a hot name we have not even thought of or know of today.

Exactly. No one even know who Harbaugh was 4 years ago (as a coach, that is)

One guy who is unknown but could be a possibility is Joey Jones. He is a Bama boy who made some noise in the high school ranks and is building the South Alabama football program right now. Already had an undefeated season.

Whoever takes it is going to have their work cut out for them. Legends are hard to follow.

see some of y'all are saying Bob Stoops. That was my first choice, but I don't think he still has what it takes to get a national championship. Yeah we'll have plenty of 10+ win seasons under him, but not many NC. We'd be seeing the Sugar Bowl A LOT.
I think Stoops needs a change of venue. He didn't forget how to coach but the Big 12 has made him soft. When all you have to do is beat Beat Texas every year, then you'll lose your edge.
That said, whoever follows Saban has a tough road to go down. It takes someone who can deal with life in the fishbowl and doesn't require on the job training. Someone who has the political capital going in that can get everyone to fall into line. Otherwise, the good ol' boys will start creeping back into the program so they can get the access they didn't have due to Saban ruling with an iron fist.

Jim, David Shaw, Sumlin, Strong, or Carroll.
