To me, Mitchell has a chance to be drafted at the next level at WR.

Big body, quick, agile, dunno.....I always liked the kid

He'd be a good WR. I figured he'd play some wideout for us this year.

Not sure that anyone should be shocked about Mitchell. After he came out during spring practice and said he wasn't moving positions it was pretty clear he would transfer if he didn't win the starting job.

A little surprised, but not overly so. Wish he would have stayed.

Listening to his HS coach on the radio... Sounds like B.Mitchell is a cry baby.

Why would he agree to play WR last year, but insist on playing QB this year? Doesn't make sense to me.

Doesn't surprise me at all.

Heard Mitchell was a little bitch quite a few times, and when he got smashed this spring by Allen I thought he might leave.

None of these impact the team really at all so I'm fine with it.

Odds are Austin would have passed Mitchell for #2 by midseason.

cause he knew he wouldnt beat out Tdub, and wanted some PT. clearly he has his heart set on being a QB, figured he could beat out Allen, and instead of switching back to WR, would rather spend his last year playing QB.

From the radio interview with his HS HC it sounded like unless he was named the starter before fall he was transferring regardless. Scared to compete

I'll have to disagree with you on this point. Losing a viable backup QB when no others currently on campus have proven they can compete on the SEC level could most certainly impact this team.

Yeah and I see it as losing a backup QB who would be replaced by Austin midseason anyways so not really much of a loss.

And if Austin gets hurt we could at least lean on on Mitchell....Now we dont have that.

Somewhat surprised...yes, but I can't say I'm shocked. No need to go into any type of mini melt down mode over this. We are in the start of a overhaul anyway.

Wish him the best.

When was the last time a teams starting QB and backup QB got hurt?

Those odds are very very slim.

Not to :beatdeadhorse: but who thought Wilson would go out in week 2 last year. If that happens now would you really feel as comfortable with Austin trotting on the the field as Mitchell?

Umm Allen would be the #1 and Mitchell the #2.

Allen gets hurt

Mitchell comes in and can semi lead us

He is now gone. I never said anything about a #1 and #2 QB getting hurt.
