Auburn athletics director Jay Jacobs says he has talked to the NCAA about recent allegations surrounding his program, and the NCAA is "satisfied" with his defense, according to CBSSports.com reporter Jeremy Fowler.
Here's the actual tweet:

#Auburn AD Jay Jacobs said he's been in communication' with NCAA over Selena Roberts story and that NCAA is satisfied with Jacobs' defense

An NCAA spokesperson Thursday would not comment on Jacobs' conversation with CBSSports.com -- a common practice by the NCAA when asked about allegations.
"I cannot comment on current, pending or potential investigations," Emily Potter, NCAA associate director of public and media relations, wrote in an email to AL.com.
For those needing a shred of hope that the NCAA isn't finished yet, I give you this:
quote:
When asked Thursday, Jacobs did not say whether the case has been closed by the NCAA.
I think it's clear where Jacobs gets his confidence from:
quote:
Auburn expanded its compliance department on April 22 with the hiring of Dave Didion, who served as an NCAA director of enforcement for 14 years.
Meanwhile, the Ducks are still negotiating their penalties with the NCAA. How many people would have bet Oregon would be on probation before Auburn?

And don't forget what Emmert said:
quote:
NCAA President Mark Emmert said no investigation has been launched following a report from former New York Times and Sports Illustrated writer Selena Roberts alleging Auburn's football program NCAA violations.
"I think it's very important to recognize that in that case at Auburn, what that is is a newspaper story. That's it," Emmert said Thursday afternoon during his annual news conference at the Final Four, which will be played this weekend in Atlanta. "We haven't done anything with that case because we don't know anything about it. What we know is what we read in the newspaper."
