So...I don't normally like country music, but I like Florida/Georgia line

I'm not sure why, but I do. Maybe its because most of their songs sounds more "fun Saturday down South" and less "whining about my lost love/dog/tractor"
Any other similar artists I should check out?

That "Cruise" song is offensive to my ears.

Anytime I come across someone who is unhappy with the current state of mainstream country I recommend the following:
The Avett Brothers (this is from their Tiny Desk concert on NPR)
American Aquarium (from Music in the Hall, "Tennessee" and "Hurricane")
Alabama Shakes (the fact that they've "broken through" gives me hope)
Deer Tick ("Diamond Rings" Live)
And if you're insistent upon sticking with mainstream country, I'd at the very least encourage you to listen to more Jamey Johnson.

I like mainstream country (despite the hate it gets from a lot of people), but I'll listen to anything

Most of it is just too poppy for me anymore. I need a decent separation of the two (even though I do like both at times).

Nashville country is super meh.
Cory Morrow... is much better.

Maybe that's why I don't mind. I like so many vasty different genres that the amalgamation of different sounds intrigues me more than it turns me off.
