The wind didn't care what schools flag you flew. How well your team performed during its spring game had no bearing. It didn't matter if your blood was purple, gold, orange or blue...it ran red that day. Too much of it ran...
Take a second today and remember the lives that were torn apart or taken away that day.
May those who suffered have found peace in the two years hence.

tornado hit Bama, sad tragic event, but doesn't really have to do with SEC sports. this thread belongs on the OT board

wait was this the date of the tornados?
ETA: thanks. Can't believe I forgot that. My best friends house was ripped from the ground here in Oxford. On his birthday nonetheless

Was a bad sight to see. I started at LSU that next semester and the first thing I did as a student was go up to Tuscaloosa with other students in a little program called " Tigers for the Tide". Got to help clean up with some cool people.

15th street looked like it had just gotten artillery shelled. Walking around the wreckage was a very erie feeling.

People can still help in that relief.

The first three posters in this thread weren't on the SECr that night and shouldn't speak on the topic of should this or should this not be on the Rant. It most definitely should be here as many of us remember the thread that we had that night and all of the constant updates and checking in from safety from many regular posters on here. This very much has to do with the SECr.

Nevermind. I'd hate to derail the thread.

That's kind of my point. A shite load of this board at the time lived it and why its still a topic worthy of the main board.

The Hell it does. This board was paramount for updates that day.

Me and my buddy went to the Bama-LSU game that year. Was the first time I had been to Tuscaloosa since 2009. Entire blocks were wiped out. I couldn't believe it. Was very sobering to see.

I was glued to my TV and the SECr... and then grabbed my dog and cat and cowered in the bathroom as it made its way to Birmingham.

Definitely a life changing event. Missed my apartment by about a mile in Tuscaloosa. Ive never seen anything close to that destruction, hope to God that I never will.
