SEC Baseball tournament question

This year's tournament has been expanded to 12 teams, with seeds 5-12 having to play a single emlimination game right off of the bat.
Just curious what you guys thoughts are on the changes in this year's tourney.
Personally I always liked the 8 team double elimination format.

I thought it was ten teams?
ETA: Guess it is 12 teams. Disregard.

So do I. But the SEC got tired of not getting 9 teams into the NCAAs.

Can we bitch about Hoover in this thread?

I'd rather bitch about the NCAA selection committee screwing LSU a couple years ago. I'm pretty sure someone from Mississippi St was the head of the committee that year, so frick State.

Just finish in the top 4 and that's exactly what we get.
There needs to be an overhaul to how SEC baseball is handled with 14 teams to get the parity back...

Well the set up with 10 teams was an abortion so hopefully this will be a bit better. I liked the 8 team double elimination as well. Bringing 12 teams in is going to equate to some really shitty baseball.

Much better than last years format that actually rewarded seeds 3 and 4 more than seeds 1 and 2.

I would amend that to the SEC in general - UK got the shaft last season.
Anybody want to post odds on which SEC school get shafted this year?

Which is genius. Autozone is gorgeous, and it's downtown memphis, which is arguably the best part outside of East Memphis. Plus memphis in general is a very neutral city. You will find all kinds of SEC fans in the area.
Arkansas, Ole Miss, State, Tennessee, LSU, Bama, Auburn, Kentucky , and Georgia fans are everywhere

Autozone is also the greatest MiLB park ever built IMO. Certainly the most expensive by a mile.
Of course, the RV crowd would be pissed -- but I don't understand why their voice is listened to? They don't pump any real money into Hoover.
I'd love to be able to pregame at bars, walk to games you want to see, walk back to bars/hotels, etc...

If you are doing Memphis then why not do Nashville?
More to do in Nashville

Yes but the Nashville Sounds stadium might literally be the worst minor league stadium in the country.

Not disagreeing with you on that just noting that I tend to drive to Nashville and drive through Memphis.

Nashville is great but Memphis is pretty fun too.

Gree Stadium was built in 1978. Think about that for a minute. How many major or minor league ballparks not named Fenway or Wrigley are that old??????

Even tho LSU has won it several times in the past few yrs, it's really more meaningful for teams scrambling to get an invite or host position. No HC wants to tire out his starting pitchers with the regionals coming up the following wk.The league's HC's like it in Hoover according to CPM, tho he's made no comments I am aware of regarding its setup this yr.
