I currently own both....
If you are looking for something easy to navigate and higher functionality then the Iphone...
I find the Galaxy III is faster, but runs battery quicker

Posting from my galaxy note II right now. Had it for a couple months now and can honestly say nothing else comes close to this thing. It's incredible. Only drawback for some is the size (some folks call it a "phablet" lol), but I have big hands and like a large display.

Samsung is faster and once you unlock it you can have more freedom than the iPhone... I still like the Iphone just for ease of use

The greatest thing about the NoteII is you don't even really need to unlock it. shite's on point!

I think I like iPhone because my banking app/school apps were not available on Samsung. Since I only use Samsung for work it is ok

I bought the Note I a year ago. waiting for Note 3 at the end of the year. once you go big screen, you can't go back
I had iphone since 2007 (original 2g iphone). once you go galaxy you can't go back. everything is so much convinient on android
Apple OS does have 1 strength over droid though, better touch screen response

Galaxy Note and its not close. I've owned both. I-Phone has become a cult unto itself. Samsung makes superior products and its reflected in Apple's recently dropping stock price.

I have the S3 and love it, my SO has the note2 and I wanted it till the note3 specs were rumored. I'm getting the note3 when it comes out.
We switched from the iphone because we wanted bigger screens. Everything else to me is the same.
