If he goes up there and works his arse off and sheds some pounds and stops all the bitching he will be pretty good. Jesus the more I think about this shite the more I want Grant gone and i am a Grant supporter. I just think that if he put his foot in some of our kids arse and made them work they could be a lot better. I follow some of them on twitter and the only person ive ever seen talking about working on there game is Ricky Tarrant and Reten. They just want to party.

Yeah, I think it comes down to players not buying in. I'm sure CAG is pretty tough to play for; that along with the style of play frustrates the players causing them to not buy in causing CAG to be even harder on them causing them to be even more frustrated and less willing to buy in. They're stuck in a cycle as individuals which causes the team to be stuck in a cycle of not turning the corner from decent team to good team.

Too many folks have blasted Lacey's effort this past season to all of sudden think this transfer is indicative of needing to get rid of Grant.

Trevor Releford is hands down the most talented player that Bama has had under Grant, and the fact that he has stayed all four years speaks much louder than a 7 ft. statue and overrated wing/point player transferring.

Grant has yet to sell anyone on his ability to build Bama into a perennial threat, but losing Lacey ain't sign of the times. Heck, Tarrant is a pretty proven commodity, and he is willing to sit a year to play for Grant. Back off the ledge fellas, and see what happens next year. Then freak out..

Thank you. Hilarious how a lazy, overrated 19 year old's decision to transfer is the final straw for some of the people in this thread. I am not even sure where people are coming to the conclusion that this was somehow Grant's fault. Unbelievable.

The only thing I blame on Grant is the basketball team isn't worth a shite. That's his fault.

As far as Lacy, I have new respect for him since he's apparently smart enough to see that as well.

I understand the frustration with what many thought Grant could have and should have accomplished by now, but your quote is better suited for LSU, Mississippi State, Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn, and maybe even Arkansas fans.

Not saying being in the top 20% of college basketball teams is the end all, be all - but that's where Grant has taken Bama bball, and it doesn't look like that's gonna change in the near future, which is something that could not be said before he got here.

If you have to go back to Wimp Sanderson to prove a failed point, you are trying too hard.

Hobbs and Gottfried each had spurts, but both were also plagued with terrible teams. I am not overly pleased with Grant, but the man brings 20 wins and a chance at the tournament each year, and that doesn't appear to be changing.

I don't think losing Lacey is going to be a big loss, but fire Grant anyway.

Grant is yet to have a spurt. What exactly am I supposed to feel good about? Winning 20 games in a putrid SEC?

The 20 wins a year thing is a good point but I think that most fans just want to see improvement with our team. Its more the way that they look at there thats frustrating.

Lacey was supposed to be top notch. Hasn't overly panned out. I'll give him a C+.
Pollard, the same expectations and is grading lower than C+ for sure.
One quality player that doesn't totally succeed is one thing, but many players....

I dont know if I want to blame Grant for them. I mean you look at Pollard and Lacey and there flaws are obvious as hell.

I'm not trying to paint Grant as a program builder or anything close to it. My point is that you likened his team(s) to horse manure, and that's just not accurate. When he came Bama was on the same level as LSU, Auburn, Georgia, etc. are now. Again, he has not overly impressed, but he has built a consistent competitive team that has had every opportunity to make the tournament by season's end.

He's earned this next year to prove he can get something more done, or I think he definitely deserves the boot. But the way some are trying to overplay Lacey leaving is baffling.

All I know is that Lacey was overrated. Im glad that he is gone I just wish we couldve filled his spot with a shooter. Lacey got a couple game winning shots for us this year but he also fricked up in some games and was basically benched during a couple. He got so lazy with the ball that he was getting ripped on his crossovers. His game hasnt changed since high school at all. Will be interesting to see if a major school accepts him as a transfer.

Lacy was our second best player whether you guys want to admit it or not.

Exactly. He's not all world and I don't see him ever playing in the NBA, but he was a top player for us and we've recruited no one that's as good.

He may have been. I think Cooper has more potential though so it will be nice to see how much he improves this offseason and if he steps up next year.

Pollard REALLY has to step up if he doesn't transfer.

We need Jacobs to be a bully inside, but I'm not sure he can be that guy.

Releford is $$

Randolph is solid. He will improve is shooting, and be a lockdown defender.
