I was preaching patience on Grant all year saying that he deserves another year, but this does it for me. I'm ready for him to be gone.
Me too. Sad for a program that use to be in the top of the SEC.

No, this

Since an average fan can tell this so plainly, then why did the guy who gets paid 1.8M go all in to get him? Either way, we can't escape the fact that this is Grant's fault

Read this on another board and I agree:
Lacey's flaws would be masked to a degree on a more offensive-minded team. In contrast, they were magnified on our team.

He was probably never going to be an NBA prospect regardless, but leaving probably is the right move for him

2 or 3 time MR. Basketball and a 5 star in state recruit. He really had no choice. Im no t going to argue with you but Lacey is a one trick pony. Just like the user ahead said. In a different scheme his flaws could be covered up. Just like in High School Butler pressed and Lacey barely even moved while they were pressing. He would just leak out and get easy layups or just shoot the ball. He never played defense.

Its hard to blame any of these kids. Playing defense and buying into the system only to come short of the tournament has to be immensely frustrating. Especially since getting to the next level requires offensive refinement.

It kinda makes you wonder what Bama could have done a few years ago with Releford, Mitchell, and Green if we had a coach that would have turned them loose.

Then again, we may not have gotten some of this talent if it weren't for Grant.

Don't get me wrong, I love the defense and the gritty attitude, but its not working.

People always want to say just turn us loose but we dont shoot well enough for that. We would get run out the gym.

Still giving Grant until after next season, but he's going to have to change things up offensively. Personally don't think it is Grant's personality that is the problem at all. It's Grant recruiting players for a style of play that he doesn't run.

I still think we will make the tournament, but not in the 5 or 6 seed I was expecting.

Too many folks have blasted Lacey's effort this past season to all of sudden think this transfer is indicative of needing to get rid of Grant.

Trevor Releford is hands down the most talented player that Bama has had under Grant, and the fact that he has stayed all four years speaks much louder than a 7 ft. statue and overrated wing/point player transferring.

Grant has yet to sell anyone on his ability to build Bama into a perennial threat, but losing Lacey ain't sign of the times. Heck, Tarrant is a pretty proven commodity, and he is willing to sit a year to play for Grant. Back off the ledge fellas, and see what happens next year. Then freak out..

Boom you said something then! Look I dont think that Grant is perfect but I dont think he is all to blame either. Ive played pick up games with Trevor and he is very lazy. All he wants to do is come up and jack up 3s. He knows he isnt athletic enough to get around people. Now I must admit. I dont understand how Grant recruits. He tells kid were going to be fast paced but then goes out to get guys like Hankerson and Lacey who arent athletic enough to keep up with that. This year he goes out and gets another athletic wing in Key but were playing slow. I think Grant has to sit his pride aside and make some changes.

I think Michigan would take him in a second, and he would play a lot.

That surprises me. I think the Michigan scheme would be the perfect fit for him but surprised he would be a take for them.

I apologize for my meltdown earlier. Lacey would NOT have been in the NBA right now, no matter who he played for. But I take nothing else back

Not really they're losing a crap ton of talent at the guard position which is why it's laughable Lunardi has them as one of his preseason 2-seeds

He wont last up there IMO. Maybe a ACC school but not anywhere like Indiana. If he wouldve went to Kentucky he would transferring somewhere else right now. He thinks that he is better than he is.

I could see it more if he were able to play right away. 3 years on scholarship for 2 years of play seems a little pricey. But if that scholly wasn't gonna be used next season anyway, then that tempers it.
