Did he drive the cadillac while attending bama? It's amazing how many wealthy athletes go to bama and buy new vehicles.

Things happen like the ordeal with Jerrell Harris, or the boating trip with Julio Jones and Mark Ingram, but those pale in comparison to someone driving around a 50K vehicle.

or alabama athletes stealing textbooks and selling them to their friends at discounted prices..

I imagine the best way to do it would be to say you saved money for his college education, and that combined with the Pell Grant was enough to buy the car.

or you just grab one off the lot and bring it back when its out of gas and trade it for the next. Or your mom gets a great deal on ford taurus because you need to travel home in the offseason and your mom makes "monthly payments" with cash that actually never get paid

OSU isnt the best example of it though. They were out of control and got busted.

They did not get caught fully, I can tell you that. However it has slowed to nill with how they were doing it before

Not what happened. They just gave their friends free books. The books are property of the University and had to be returned at the end of the semester.

And Flukers car is nowhere near 50K. I drive the same car and its worth between 5-10 depending on the condition.

Oh ya, no doubt. They didnt even get in any trouble over the cars. The NCAA wasnt going to cripple one of its cash cows long term. Just a little slap on the wrist and told them to knock it off.

You're acting like I think athletes aren't getting preferred treatment. I realize "special deals" might be done for them to get these cars. But I also realize that expensive cars aren't just being given to them. In a technological, social media world you're not getting away with 1980s tactics.

The football players who stole those textbooks should have been arrested and made to serve time.
Thug POS.

I guess athletic book scholarships still aren't completely understood by some. The trouble lies in "renting" books for classes they weren't enrolled in. This same things happened at Ball State and Nebraska with no major repercussions. Alabama just had the unfortunate circumstance of this happening during an ongoing probationary period from the 2002 Albert Means case.

If textbooks - suits - fishing trips - laptops - cars are Saban's cheating scheme at Bama, what were his tactics while he was at LSU?

well they arent being given to them to keep a lot of the times, at least from my personal knowledge, and they arent usually "expensive"

It is harder, but like I said it happens quite a bit, they just have found better ways to mask it.

They arent pulling the Dickerson brand new trans ams like in the 80's and its also "rogue boosters"

Typical gump response. Show me pictures of LSU players driving Cadillac's and Chargers. No one said it was Saban's cheating scheme. Pretty sure bama was caught cheating way before he got there.

The kid has been getting money since he was a sophomore in HS and different schools were building his mom a house to get him to play for them (McT,Biloxi HS, and Foley.) All of the flashy presents the players gets are alumni-bought. Doubt it's the Athletic department
