Exactly. There were two or three times our own D could have done that in this game
He absolutely can not be our QB.

Agreed. Frazier would do better to find a different position to get proficient at. He looks lost and scared in games way too often.

quote:Meh, I would hold out on any hard conclusions based on that watered down scrimmage. You could tell players weren't going 100% and trying not to get anyone hurt. I saw defenders let up when about to make contact on about every play.
The offense looks exactly line 2009 and 2011. I dont think we have the playmakers to make it reallly work against some of our big rivals... They will stop that shite I saw on the replay
The defense looks like last year as well.
Right now, we are a 4-8 team. Maybe.
I just wanted to see the players lined up in the right position and look like they knew where to be. I thought our defense actually looked improved except for some blown coverages by the safties/corners (mostly second team).
Landrum looks slow at LB. Owens still doesn't have the instincts to play there. Holland looks like a D2 player. Swain, Frost, McKinzy, & Mitchell looked good.
I think the second team corners look like a big drop off (off course that's without Holsey). Ryan White just doesn't have it. Jones missed a lot of assignments. Therezie did as well. Garrett looked great.
No comment on the DLine. Hard to get a read them. Although, President & Wright looked disruptive. Bradley could be a good one too.
Slade still looks like he's running in quicksand when pulling. Miller and Robinson look solid on the outside. Kozan needs to add weight.
Reed is a bust. Louis could be special. Fulse looks good blocking and route running. Prosch is Prosch. All new WRs have a chance to play, IMO.
QB will be Marshall if he can pick up the playbook over the summer.

I think Chad Slade will start only because he has a lot of experience. He's obviously holding the offensive line back with his lack of speed. Hopefully we will see someone jump in and beat him out in the fall.

I too believe Wallace played better than Frazier but it was against a base defense. If it were a true game our opposition would crowd the box and try to take away the run and short passes and I just don't think Wallace has the arm talent to make them pay. For all of his faults Frazier is a much better runner and he throws a nice deep ball which is required for this offense to work properly. I know some will point to Chris Todd in 2009 but when his arm started giving him trouble and teams started stacking the box against us we struggled to score and finished the season 2-5 against FBS competition.

It really wasn't that dirty. Made contact at the shoulder pads, wasn't leading with head, and actually let up a little bit before hitting him.
I agree with all saying this, BUT...
He could have solved the whole problem by just wrapping up and taking the man down instead of going for the highlight show hit. As a matter of fact, wrapping him up and taking him down would have been BETTER because it would have resulted in a loss of yardage on the play.
Again, the hit was legit IMO. But can't you just tackle the guy in that situation?

I am not worried if an underdeveloped true freshmen was just alright in the spring game. Wallaceis learning a new offense now and still putting on weight. His ceiling is higher than you are giving credit for.he is a true freshman
His throwing motion is awful. Almost Tebow-esque.
And he throws a lot from his back foot. His interception was because he jumped up in the air and threw the ball using NO feet. He did that a couple of times in the game. Too short to see over his OL?

He is just covering his angle so if it turns out bad in 2013 he will get a chance to be right about something.
Yes, indeed... CaptIToldjaSo.

Wallace's passes sure as hell weren't getting the ball there any faster.

My friend saw Jeremy Johnson the other day and said he was just HUGE. The 6'6 was no lie and he said he's a solid 240 or so.
