My thoughts:
QB = Frazier may be slightly better than last year but I think he's a "practice" QB and I dont know if he can deliver on gameday. Wallace has the heart and mind but there is a talent gap that may not be easily overcome. I think everyone is hoping that Nick Marshall is Cam 1.0 but I'm not buying this is a realistic option. Wallace with a strong O-line and WRs that can catch and hold onto the ball are where my hope currently lie
O-line- I think this is the strongest area on the team especially because we'll have depth here to carry us thru the season.
RB's - I would describe them as solid atm with a high ceiling. I think Gus held them back but CAP and Mason along with Grant, Barber, and I believe we signed 2 RB's? I believe we will be okay
WR's - I'm concerned. I havent followe Spring Practice extremely close but this seems to be one of the least talked about units. It doesnt seem like there's been much seperation. Shaky QB's plus shaky WRs does not an SEC contender make. I'd like for there to be at least 1 go to WR with a decent backup?
D-line = Isnt DT one of the deepest positions on the team? Why is there play so blah? How much improvement should we expect by the fall?
CB's = For whatever reason, Im a big Holsey fan and feel like he has the talent and drive to be a really good player
Safety = I know there some concern regarding McNeal, but I think the incoming Freshmen plus the JuCo player will be difference makers
Defense Overall = The players appear to have bought into Johnson's system but there were still busted assignments, missed tackles, ect. I think it will be another year until we field an SEC level unit. I dont mean this as a negative. Defense has been a weakness since the Chizik era began and I dont see one Spring practice resolving years of issues.
*Also, I hope today made Garner and Craig feel that they made the right decision to return too Auburn.

I think you're off on the WR's, and the RB position is more than solid. I feel WR's have made a lot of improvement over what I saw last year. We have a great chance to have 1 or two at the 1000 yd mark. Hell didn't Tre Mason get 1000 last year with such a crappy team? My prediction is we end up as a team rushing well over 2000 yds for the year.
I think we will have greater success at the WR position and will only improve as the year progresses. They are blocking again and look more active than in years pass. Great size and speed.

At this point I find it extremely unlikely that KF will ever take a snap as starter. He made the same errors as last year. Wallace made a lot of mistakes, but I find his to be more easily correctable. KF's problem has now become psychological (confidence). I told somebody yesterday that he is probably the best looking qb in AU HISTORY over on the practice field. As soon as they strap up in JHS he goes to deer in the headlights.

I really hope you're right. I didn't mean it come across that I don't think the WR's had made progress or that we don't have the talent. It's just that WR and QB are the two areas that I'm most concerned about.

If it makes you feel better he is that way in the practice field too.
Our offense needs a strong pass game. We don't necessarily need superior talent but guys who can execute on the field ala Chriss Todd. Wide receivers seem to need some sticky glue out there. They are talented but shut they cantalways holds on to the ball

I loved the way they set the game up and left the scholarship players in until the end. Still need help at LB but thought Frost was serviceable. Wallace outplayed Frazier imo and looks like he has gained some arm strength but he still didn't look good throwing the ball down the field. Frazier struggled early but once he settled in he looked much better. Still struggles when he can't step into the throw but he looks quicker after losing some weight and other than the touch passes he was accurate with his throws.

I still think Wallace is the starting QB in the Fall, unless Marshall is just a genius when it comes to picking up Malzahns offense. As others have said, he made mistakes, but he is much improved from last year.
Payne and Mason are going to gain a ton of yards this year, love the way CAP runs, very excited about the running game.
And the Mincy hit was clean IMHO, and he fricking laid the lumber on the receiver.

Our D did a good job on multiple occasions attacking the bubble screens. That was nice to see. They were tackling a d playing much more aggressive. Definitely have work to do but definitely leaps and bounds more physical than last year.

He is just covering his angle so if it turns out bad in 2013 he will get a chance to be right about something.

A few less-than-sober impressions:
Holland is still Holland. He had some impressive diving miss tackles.
CAP looks like Ben Tate. Similar running style, speed, size...and number, which we all know is the most important part when comparing two RBs.
If I had to pick one of our two scholarship QBs, I would go with JW. He still needs to gain some arm-strength and accuracy on the long passes, but given hes a freshman and only a few weeks into a brand new system I think he'll visibly improve. KF is still KF. He struggles to complete the simplest passes. I don't care what he looks like at practice because he has proven to us time and time again he can't bring that on gamedays.
WRs (outside of Reed) looked pretty good.
I couldn't tell if our OL looked really good or if our DL looked really bad. I'm guessing it was a bit of both. I'm glad Carl Lawson was there to see the DL play. It showed him if he keeps working hard, he will start this season. OL (regardless of the quality of it's competition) looked much better than last year.
We don't have a viable back-up center.
Overall, offense looked pretty decent. It showed promise. Defense was less impressive, although the tackling did look better

It's apparent to me that Trovon Reed should've ended up on defense. I know he isn't very physical, but he just struggles judging and catching the ball downfield. He could've made a better cornerback than wide receiver, IMO. Of course, hindsight is always 20/20. Just remember he looked good at cornerback in the Army All-American game back in the day.

If our QB situation is really so shitty, Malzahn should put in a triple option package to frick with people. Georgia State pulled it off against Bama
Tre Mason and CAP at wing backs, Prosch and Ricky Parks at FB and Fulse at TE blocking then Nick Marshal playing Q
That is a pretty legit triple option package personel

I missed the game, had to fish. But, I did finally get to see the full game.
My non expert opinions
Auburn Crowd -
Nothing else to say
Wallace at QB - We win 5 games. Maybe. He looks very similar to last year. Just decent, not great.
Frazier -
We win 3 games. He is just turrible and should be processed.
Tre Mason - Solid. Not explosive but solid. Will carry the ball a lot and get 1000 yards again.
CAP - frick Yes - Looks like Ben Tate. Wears 44 and runs hard. Big hopefull here
Trovon Reed - Still MEH - will not be a impact player. He was over rated and will always be Benton #2
Coates - very promising - Needs to prove it in SEC Play but we need this kid and he has all the tools to deliver
Craig Sanders - Where are you? Please step up and play to your potential. Now or never
Justin Garrett - Very good showing. Seems his praise is legit...
Offensive line. Looked decent. No blown plays other than the high snap that Wallace should have fielded
Cody Parkey - Get your shite together
Defensive line - Needs help. No real pressure. No real playmakers. Concerned
Nick Marshall - Please please be as good as some think you are and please please don't rob anyone before the season is over.
Coach Malzahn - Get on a damn treadmill and please cut the sweeps in half. Thats all we ask
Mincy - Was not a targetting hit but TPOS anyway. Not necessary in the spring game..
The offense looks exactly line 2009 and 2011. I dont think we have the playmakers to make it reallly work against some of our big rivals... They will stop that shite I saw on the replay
The defense looks like last year as well.
Right now, we are a 4-8 team. Maybe.

One positive was the defense did a good job defending the screen. Seems like most screens only went 3 yards or so.
