I've been to several functions at Ttown with no Auburn involved and seen some random AU fan with gear on like I've seen Bama fans do on AU's campus. But you're right that the proportion is very large and you're right that we don't have someone as extreme as Updyke or the teabagger.

I can't say I've never been out in Tuscaloosa with an Auburn hat on, but I normally just go with something neutral like a Braves hat. It's not worth the attention it can draw when people are drinking and you're outnumbered.

Bammers are the worst.

Along these same lines, I was at the AU/OM game this year in Oxford and sure enough there was a bammer there rooting against AU. He was decked out in Bama attire. Who goes to another stadium where your rival is playing to root against them? I guess he was too poor to travel all the way to Tuscaloosa.

A good friend invited me and my son to go with him and his family to Athens for the UGA/Colorado game a number of years back.

I wore a red shirt and black slacks. Didn't have a damn sign of UGA on'em, but why in the world would have worn my Auburn gear?

I have never been to Tuscaloosa and don't plan to go.
