She sd they got away with a few diamonds and not much else. Most of the house was trashed.

It rained all day long. A serious downpour type rain. Is that smart thievery, working in monsoons, or are my neighbors pulling a fast one?

Hard to hear and hard to see. Rain masks evidence outside of the house (if there is any). Sounds like smart theivery to me.

Glad no one was hurt. I've always said, if someone breaks into my house, they can take whatever they want. But, one step towards the bedrooms and they'll get a bullet between the eyes and 2 in the chest. I can replace the stolen stuff.

Yes, for all the reasons already posted. Also, general rule on a car lot is that if you show up to look at cars in the rain, you're a BUYER. Works in reverse.

Yes.

They waited for the storm because they knew the motorcycle cops would be parked under the overpasses, the car cops would be napping in parking lots to the sound of rain in donut-comas, and all the neighbors would be hunkered down inside. Then.................. they trashed their own house and made some shite up about diamonds they never owned in the first place being stolen.

Long story short.......... Your neighbor is clearly planning to rob YOU!!!! Maybe even murder you! And she will have the perfect alliby because she will appear to be a recent victim of this neighborhood crime-wave as well. And will, therefore, fly neatly under the radar of suspicion.

ANyway.... Sorry in advance for your upcoming misery.

frick you

This was no sprinkle, I had a hard time wrapping my head around stealing when you need a boat to get away.

Side note: robbed yesterday and woke up to a flooded basement today. Two weeks ago he wrecked a rented RV and the place wants like $8,000 for repair.

Tough few weeks for the neighbor.

Mixed blessing. Bad weather can visually mask your approach/exit from a property, and rain can obliterate some physical evidence on the exterior of a building, etc. However, you will leave more evidence inside than normal (e.g., all sorts of prints), and depending on the condition of the ground, your path may be *very* visible after the fact. There's also additional clean-up of vehicle, shoes, clothes, etc. that needs to be done in bad weather.
