Over the weekend, Alabama landed a commitment from Ricky Tarrant, a sophomore PG who is transferring from Tulane. He'll have to to sit out next year. Tarrant averaged over 15 points a game at Tulane.
Today, Alabama landed a commitment from Algie Key, a 6'4 Juco SG. I think he was 3rd team All-American both years in junior college. As a sophomore, Key averaged 17.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.4 assists.

Tarrant is a good one. He will be a nice addition.

I'm pretty sure I've seen Key play before. I can't place who it was against though.

Did you watch him in highschool? He played in Georgia

Yea im happy about the pickups. Wish Tarrant could play now though. Hope we aren't finished.

Is key strictly a 2 guard? Also, adding any post players?

He may be able to play a little 3 being 6'4 but I don't see anyway he plays the point. We added center Jimmie Taylor and PF Shannon Hale in the early period. I wish we'd add one more post but it doesn't look likely.

Is Pollard sticking around? Was reading y'alls basketball thread and someone alluded to the possibility of him leaving.

One guy on bamamag mentioned something about him leaving but that's the only thing I've seen. I hope he isn't leaving because I do think he can eventually be good, but you never know who gets in their ears and gives them insight.

Have to say I was surprised how bad Pollard was this season. Thought he could come in and be an immediate contributor.

Key is ranked the #12 JUCO, so all in all not bad.

Pollard has got to be the shyest kid ever to do an interview. He's a raw talent in the first place, but I think his nerves is what made him look like an average Rec player. He was starting to play much better towards the end of the season.
As for Algie Key I think he could play the 2 and 3 and he might even be our patch job at the backup PG spot if he has the handles for it. All we've really seen is a short team highlight video of his JUCO team's season his freshman year, but he looked like a pretty good passer and his assist stats back that up.

Yea he ran the point in those highlights which makes me think he would be our backup for this season until next when Tarrant enters the picture. I really don't want Lacey lazy arse running shite. I also hope Pollard doesn't leave because he started playing well the last couple games. I could honestly vision his mom talking shite about CAG in my head. With her thinking he was one and done and all.

You are a TON younger than I thought you were.

Don't think he ran the point in the highlights, but he did look like a very good passer. The fact that he averaged near 5 assists per game in his two years at the off-guard position is impressive.
