Jermaine Roberts, CB from St. Augustine in New Orleans commits to #Texas. Teammate of five-star RB Leonard Fournette.
I guess Mack Brown is going to give it his all to land Fournette.

We actually do like Roberts, it's not just for Fournette (whom we don't have a chance to land, anyways)

You can have him!

Even Alabama was jockeying with the idea of landing Roberts in hope of Fournette. Alabama never recruits CBs under 5-11.

We occasionally recruit short DBs (ie. Quandre Diggs), so it made a little more sense for us. He's pretty aggressive for a short guy. We'll see how he turns out

I seriously hope he turns out well. Texas needs to reclaim the big 12

This gives Texas two Purple Knights.
UF also has an OL from St. Augustine.
Yet it's still Bama or LSU for Fournette.

He needs to hit the weight room hard at Texas.

I've already stated my thoughts on that. I want Roc Thomas. I would hate to see a talented RB from the state of Alabama go elsewhere. Plus, we can afford to bow out of the Fournette sweepstakes with our recent hauls. It's obvious he's staying home.

Don't know about that. Bama got the last great RB out of LA.

My guy is not some kid just trying to make a living following recruiting either. He's been in the business for 20 years and exclusively follows Texas, LA and MS high schools.
He doesn't make a ton of money but he lives in his parents basement so he has like basically no expenses. He's in his late 40's and never dates so he has basically no distractions (i.e., I think he knows what he's talking about).

Bama got Jeremy Hill?

And Hilliard.
What about Magee?
Josh Robinson at State?
Even UTK has signed an LA back since bama. Granted he turned out to be a diva.

I said the last "great" RB not the last "good" RB (e.g., Hilliard, Hill, etc.). "Great" to me means a RB that will be the first back taken in the draft (or any first round back if there are multiple great backs in a class).

Close. He offered him and told him "DON'T become the next honey badger."

No you got it wrong. Saban let's his guys smoke. He told him if he came to Bama he could be the next HB and they would take care of him.

I know, that is why I pointed out Hill.
