LSU was #1 for a little while a few years ago, but I wonder if the coach's ceiling is just a consistent top-15 program. Is it safe to say golf success is all about who you know?
I'm not calling for his head. I am just envious at Bama's success in golf

In all fairness and full disclosure, LSU has had a better overall golf program than Bama. In fact, Alabama golf (both men's and women's) is experiencing the Florida phenomenon....years and years of being a mediocre to below average program then all of a sudden becoming a national power (see Florida football pre/post Steve Spurrier).
In Bama's case, they hired very good dynamic coaches in recent years. Such coaches are really good at pulling big time recruits. Bama's men's team currently has the #2 (Bobby Wyatt) and #3 (Justin Thomas) ranked amateur players in the world rankings on the team with a 3rd player Cory Whitsett who is ranked 29th in the world and was the consensus #1 recruit his senior year of high school. All 3 of those guys will likely be on the PGA Tour in a few years.

We took advantage of Katrina too. Without that Michael Thompson would have stayed at Tulane and that was really the start of Bama having a good program.

Bo love is also on the team. His dad is the captain of the Ryder Cup team, Davis Love III.
I keep telling my sis(soph) to find the kid and date him. Haha

Yeah, I knew this much. We're historically only behind UGA in terms of success. I don't know the story as to what happened to our program in the 90's-early 2000's, but we suddenly sucked and didn't recover until Winstead was hired 5-6 years ago. Early on he had us consistently in the top-8, but the last 2 years I think we've been ranked in the teens. We are rally young to be fair

that is impressive. I checked your roster. It is even more impressive how most of your roster is from Alabama. That is a nice advantage

We did have both the men's and women's NCAA champions a couple years back.

I watched Alabama this weekend at the Aggie Invitational. They won by 20 strokes over the next closest team. It was like they were playing one course and the other 11 teams were playing another course. Impressive!!!
