Awesome moment in Lincoln today.

quote:

Jack Hoffman is a 7-year-old brain cancer patient, but that didn't stop him from scoring a touchdown in Nebraska's spring game Saturday afternoon. Jack, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2011 and is currently on a break from his chemotherapy treatment, came into the game for a fourth-and-1 on the 31 yard line. With the help of some blockers, Jack ran the ball all the way into the end zone in front of more than 60,000 fans.

Jack met Nebraska running back Rex Burkhead last year and the two became friends. Rex was named captain of "Team Jack," a support group made up of Jack's friends and family, and when Jack scored his touchdown, he was wearing a miniature Rex jersey. Burkhead, who completed his senior season last fall, was elated after the game.

"Jack is a fighter, a strong kid. To see him run around and enjoy the Husker experience, it's a dream come true, especially for kids in the state of Nebraska. For Jack to get down here and do it, I know it made his day."

Nebraska's defense must suck.

Just kidding. Everyone I know that had any interactions with the Nebraska faithful a couple years ago down in Orlando had nothing but good things to say. It's a passionate fan base and knows how to take care of their own.

Wow. That was really cool. I have some family in Nebraska and I appreciate the Husker tradition and how cool that moment must have been for that kid.

Agreed brother. That shite was awesome if you still have the tiniest bit of non-black left in your heart.

Nebraska.

I have never liked Bo Pelini, but what a class move by him for allowing this to happen.

Pelini did something similar when he was the DC at LSU. He organized a fundraiser for the family of a child diagnosed with cancer. He did not know the family, just knew that the child went to school with his kids. He started calling people on the phone one day and said we need to do this to help these folks out.
