My thought is how the hell do they know that since there aren't tickets? Don't you just give a donation, or walk through the gates?

I'm sure it's just a guess(probably overestimate). My thinking is they count the sections and guess how full they are and add up all the guesses.

they also had a canned good drive so they can use that as an estimate.

if it wasnt parents weekend for a variety of frats/sororities, that number probably woulda been a lot lower

I parked in Hull St. deck, walked down five levels, walked all the way to the Bookstore to buy my son and I hats, then through Bulldog Cafe, then through the rest of Tate, down to the gate where we went in (and donated food) and I NEVER saw one...not ONE other person with a canned good. I felt like a damn idiot cuz I kept having to juggle these two cans back and forth with my son all the way into the stadium and NO ONE else was doing the same.
Only other "canned goods" I saw were in Bud Light labels.
