The tennis thread got me wondering.... who on here plays tennis?

If you are still in school, do you play for your school's team, club, or just rec?

If you're older, do you play USTA league? What NTRP rating are you? Do you play mostly singles, doubles, or both about the same amount?

I'm a 4.5 and play 100% doubles in league and both in tournaments. I usually get deeper in the draws in doubles.

I tried. Kept hitting the ball out of the court.

Sounds like someone lacks coordination and is angry about it.

I play at the park for exercise, it's more interesting than jogging.

I played my senior yr of HS, missed the cut for the state tourney, and haven't played much since. I really miss it, but never had a good serve, and never had anyone teach me. Our coach didn't do shite.

I played singles in HS. I don't play doubles, hate it. My classmate & good friend was state singles champion 2yrs. (i could never beat her) & we won state 3 yrs. in doubles my sophmore through senior years.

I played regularly until a few years ago. Need to get back to it.

I have all the stuff to play tennis, but I can't get any of my friends to get off their asses to play with me. See my thread on the OT.

Played in high school. Got burnt out so I didn't pick up a racquet during for a few years. My last year at LSU, I started playing again. Now I work too damn much to play. I want to pick it up again this summer.

When I lived in Atlanta as a kid I played ALTA. Tons of tennis players down there - all the way from C to AA with 8 or so flights in each level. I thought about taking it up again but I live in TN nobody gives a frick about it here.

I play, but I'm currently working nights so I'm not able to play in the local league. Once I move this summer, I plan to join the local league to meet folks to network... and maybe some mixed doubles

Played singles in high school and used to play T2 here in Atlanta. Won the Atlanta City title at 3.0 last summer and haven't played much since. It's a self rated league so everyone plays down at least one level. I beat a guy last summer that plays 4.5 in USTA 6-0 6-0, and have been beaten that bad in 3.0/3.5 singles in T2 a few times. That's how bad the sandbagging in T2 is.

Where are the good American tennis players?
Other than the Williams sisters, American tennis sucks.
