Is it customary to slam your open gatorade down so that half spills out?

According to every gatorade commercial, I've been drinking them wrong all these years.

That's how I drink mine, I slam it and try to catch as much as I can in the air.

I always put the lid back on mine before I slam it down. Doesn't spill that way.

Only place I've ever seen them is at my middle & jr. high schools. They sold them at lunch.
