What are some of your most common recurring dreams? One I've had a lot is the missing school dream. You probably know the one I'm talking about because I've talked to several people who have had it. In the variation of the dream I have I'm always in high school even though I've been out of high school nearly 20 years. I can't remember my locker combination, I have no idea what my class schedule is and when the class starts and where it is located. I'm aware that I'm missing the classes and getting 0s on all my tests yet I'm powerless to do anything about it.

P.S. I fell asleep in the middle of this post last night so that's why it randomly cut off in the middle of my post.

It's not recurring, but I'm pretty sure I've figured out how to do what I want in many of my dreams.

Last night I experienced what I think the finale of Breaking Bad should be, and I got laid directly afterwards by some random DEA agent that busted up the meth lab. So, that was good.

I don't have recurring dreams. I have free will in my dreams though. It's kind of like the 'choose your own adventure' books.

I dream at least 2 or 3 times a year that I am still in high school. I also have weird arse dreams about things that happen in my grandmothers old house, creepy dreams that have nothing to do with my grandmother. I dream like crazy though. I will take a 15 minute nap and dream about something.

Plane crashes, not planes that I am on though.

Not recurring dream but recurring problem in the dream - I always fall down when trying to run in a dream.

I had a pretty intense and disturbing version of that same plane crashing (not ones that I'm on) dream about 2 months after 9/11 occured. Large commercial jets nose diving into the ground in some cases hitting close by. Very disturbing.

I've also had one where I'm driving from the back seat of a car unable to control the car. It turns out at least 2 of my co-workers have had that one several times as well.

I don't have recurring dreams, but I did kill a man in my sleep last night. Everyone was mad at me for it. It was a good thing he came back to life later.

Apparently Rick Ross has nightmares where MJ is moon-walking on the white squares fwiw.

These usually indicates some type of stress or apprehension about missed or looming deadlines.

I don't have the same dreams, but I have recurring themes... if I am ever driving anything, the brakes do not work and if I am ever playing golf, I can not get my balance to hit the tee shot.

I had this series of dreams as a child that were related to the old PBS show "Ghostwriter" that involved this ridiculous slime monster from it.

Pic:

Except in my dreams it looked fricking terrifying rather than mentally retarded.

Always seemed to take place out in the country either at my grandparents' house or my great-grandparents' house. Probably had a dream related to it once or twice a year through most of elementary school.

I feel your pain. It's been over 30 years since undergraduate school at UGA and I still occasionally have a dream about being late for a final exam.

The I missed an entire semester of class and just realized it with one week remaining in the semester dream is standard even though I graduated college 10 years ago.

However, I have another dream that pops up once every few years:

I'm sitting in the back seat of my parents car with my family. We're driving down an old gravel road in the middle of the night. Lightning flashes in the sky ahead of us. There must be a storm looming.

We wind down this country road for a while and I feel helpless because I know something bad is going to happen. I can feel it in the dream.

The gravel road makes a hard curve to the right and when we round the curve the car's headlights shine upon a long iron bridge with old wooden planks. Dad stops the car just before the bridge.

At that moment, a fierce downpour of rain, wind, and lightning turn the dark night into chaos.

Mom asks Dad not to drive across the bridge, but Dad says, "We have to get home, and there's only one way."

He starts to drive across the bridge, the wooden planks popping under the weight of the car's tires.

I look out the side window to see the river below. At first it is too dark to see anything, but a flash of lightning momentarily lights up the sky to reveal a turbulent river hundreds of feet below the bridge.

I turn to look toward the front of the car and begin to pray that we make it safely across the bridge.

All of the sudden, lightning strikes the bridge in an awful explosion of light and noise. Dad hits the breaks but the car begins to slide on the wet wooden planks. Everyone screams as the car nears a huge hole in the bridge.

The car's front tires drop into the hole and the car momentarily stops as it teeters precariously on edge.

Dad turns around and says, "Kids, I love you." At that moment, the car drops through the hole and into the dark chasm below.

As the car falls through the darkness, flashes of lightning illuminate a fast approaching turbulent river. Just before the car hits the water, I wake up...

I haven't had this dream in years but as a kid I don't know how many times I had some variation on it.

The basic premise and plot are that I'm in my elementary school and we (the kids) all are standing in line to get vaccination shots. Being a trouble maker, I get out of line to go ask a teacher standing on the other side of the cafeteria a question. When I get there I see behind the curtain on stage (Yes my elementary school had a stage in the cafeteria) a pile of my classmates bodies with more being added after they get the injection.

The teacher doesn't realize that I saw this and tells me to go back to the line. I keep my cool, while freaking out on the inside. I get back in line and tell my friends that we have to get out of there. They don't believe me. When it's my turn to get the shot, I turn the needle on the person giving the shots, and run away.

Eventually though, I would always wind up in a bathroom that looks exactly like the one from the N64 video game GoldenEye, but there would be a window. I would always try to get out the window but before I could I would get killed in a manner that would always change (finally getting the shot, being stabbed, or being shot with a machine gun through the stall doors). I'd never see the person who killed me, and I'd always wake up before I "actually" died.

Haven't had one of those for several years, but I still remember it pretty vividly.

I keep having dreams that I am back in the house I grew up in. About once or twice a month I dream that someone is chasing me trying to kill me and I keep shooting them but the bullets affect them like BB's.

Tornadoes

I'll be in the house looking out the window(our home overlooks 160 acres) and see a funnel cloud or 3 forming and i'll be trying to get everyone out

It's freaky, but somehow i've figured out how to be "calm" in my dream because i've seen the tornadoes before, almost like i know they're coming, as opposed to earlier dreams when i would freak out

Falling ... then waking myself up by literally "jumping" in the bed. I think I'm actually flailing around in bed as I'm falling in my dream which wakes me up right before I hit the ground. I'm terrified of heights, or more accurately, falling off things - a roof, mountain, ladder, whatever - so I guess it makes sense.
