Got some heavy rain and high winds here north of Guntersville. Probable tornado about 20 miles south of us in Albertville/Boaz area with damage to businesses and homes.
It all passed through here about an hour ago and the sun is shining right now.(6:04 central time)

I would love to man, my house borders a few miles of forest so we are surrounded by these bastards. My Dad and I counted the other week of how many trees are within distance of fricking us up and I think the number was 15 or a little more.

Pine Trees fuggin blow. High maintence, pine cones hurt to pick up, they're not a good looking tree, and they're tall and lanky which doesnt hold up against strong winds.

Had one fall perpendicular to my house around last Christmas. My vet buddy said it sounded like an IED going off. I currently have one leaning over my kitchen right now. This spring will probably do it in....

frick that. Oak trees cause just as much storm damage, plus the pine tree gives you paper, lumber, tp, etc.

Stand of oldgrowth longleaf with some wiregrass is a beautiful thing. Also, Augusta National isn't too bad on the eyes, and it has hundreds of pines.

K9 I was about to come in here and sat the exact same thing. These lanky pines they are talking about must be 20 year old splash to loblolly. There ain't nothing lanky about old growth longleafs! And they have made it through more storms and fires than any of us.
