Thoughts? How was the venue?

I was able to attend the semi's and finals game yesterday. With Tennessee and Kentucky not making the Semi's I picked up my Saturday and Sunday mid court tickets for just $50 each from 2 Tennessee fans. The lady next to me said she sold her extra 2 ticket booklets to the TN guy for face value. So I only had to pay $100 for $300 face value. The Vol fan got stuck for a $200 loss. The scalpers Saturday morning were in a panic and overly aggressive. It was like the stock market had crashed.

The three games I attended were enjoyable to watch. My only disappointment is how SEC basketball pails in comparison to football. A HUGE gap between the two. Sunday's crowd edge went to Ole Miss. Not sure why more Florida Fans did not travel to support their team. Love the tourney, but not much fan passion. I've seen more passion and a sold out stadium when LSU women played the Lady Vols in the finals a few years back. And I'm talking how loud both teams were in to the game.

The SEC basketball tourney is of little consequence when you are a lock for a good seed in the NCAAs.

It was more exciting for a team like OM and a doucher like Henderson. Speaking of him, he's like watching an episode of Jersey Shore (I stole that analogy BTW).

I got uppers for $10 each for the semis and just walked down to the lower level.

Bridgestone was nice, and Nashville was great as always

Should be a bigger event. A lot of fun, and I wouldn't mind it staying there. I liked it more than the SEC football championship environment, but that's probably just because this was different and Nashville is nicer than Atlanta

If the sporting event is outside the state of Florida, UF fans will not show up.

There's some truth to that. I despise going North for anything. I hate it when my company has meetings in the Winter north of Jacksonville.

South is where it's at.

That's true. The UF crowd at the Sugar Bowl wasn't very impressive.

Even if it's in Florida they don't show up

No question going to a sporting event in Nashville is much better than Atlanta.

One day, Nashville will put a retractable dome where LP Field is currently, and the SECCG will come to town... hitting broadway then walking across the bridge to the game will be amazing.

It was easy to find, easy to get in and out, and there's no comparison between Broadway and the area around the GA Dome.

How many do you think the Odome holds?

Wasn't the comment about the UF turnout would be if the Tourney was held in FL.

Hold it in Jax, Tampa or Orlando and it would be covered with UF fans. Well, that's not true because the UK folks would travel as usual.

I think we do pretty well considering the lack of a basketball tradition. I don't expect anyone here to agree.

No one knows why. We only know that this phenomenon is as sure as the setting of the sun.

12,000

There were only a handful of UF fans there Saturday. A bigger handful than UA, but a handful nonetheless.

Billy D has established Florida as a top program. But they can't sell out a small arena

There weren't many, and Ole Miss definitely held the advantage... granted, there is a strong OM base in Nashville, and OM is relatively close (compared to FL), but for a school that's been one of the top 5 to 10 programs of the last decade, the turnout is consistently mediocre.

I think some of it has to do with the fans being spoiled by Donnavon. They've been so good for so long that people take things like this for granted.

The Bama Fans on Saturday were loud until they faded in the 2nd half. They kept saying their team always fades in the 2nd half.
If Bama had made the final I'm guessing it would have been pretty full of Gumps.
