With respect to Rams, Falcons might have Greatest Show on Turf: Steven Jackson, Roddy White, Julio Jones, Tony Gonzales, Matt Ryan.

How many of yall were the same Falcons fans that would spit and cuss at anyone criticizing Turner this year?

I like the Falcon's, born and raised ATLien, I'm just not that passionate about them, more objective. I was cussed several time this season by Falcons fan friends and acquaintances for saying it was time for Turner to go.

Then toward the end, they all got on the Queezy train.

Now they are exploding in their pants over Jackson (which they should be, I was right all along).

How many falcon's fans will now admit they were wrong to cuss me about saying Turner needed to be replaced during the season?

Who was cussing you for saying that? I think we all generally agreed on that.

I love this move. Steven Jackson is a boss, and he will only probably get 200 or so carries. He is also a very good receiver out of the backfield (once caught 90 passes in a season)...this really excites me.

I'm pretty sure any falcon fan with half a brain could tell it was time for Turner to go. I cringed every time he got the ball. Still hope the falcons pick up a rb in the draft since Jackson probably only has a few strong seasons left.

I was in agreeance with you, Turner was tiptoeing to the line all season long. He turned it on for 1 quarter in the playoffs and not much else. Glad to see them going for it, TD and the falcons front office have got their shite together.

Remember this one?

NIKE

One of my favorite football commercials of all time. The use of the song "Promontory" made it epic, imo.

Some numbers on Jackson. I like it.

LINK

This link doesn't include that he had 2334 yards from scrimmage and 16 TDs in 2006. We don't need that kind of production from him, but man if he can find that for a year....

Honestly I wish the Falcons could have gotten a young RB but I guess that got who the could through free agency. Hopefully at 29, Jackson still has some good years left in him. Regardless, he has to be an upgrade over the plodding Turner. Turner served the Falcons well during his time but you could tell this past season that his legs are pretty much gone.

I just don't understand this train of thought. He's a proven commodity as opposed to someone we draft and we need one average year from him. That's it. One year. We want to win NOW.

i agree, but then why set abe loose? if you want to win now, they better have something up their sleeve.

Re: jax, just need to be able to eat clock late with a lead, no more blown 2nd half leads when you can grind 5,6,7 minutes off the clock, even if you dont score.

You basically answered your own question. SJAX gives us a weapon to close out games that we didn't have last year and could make our offense possibly one of the most dynamic ever.

Our defense couldn't get a whole lot worse. In this day and age, 3rd Rounders are significant contributors. So I think we may still see some things with maybe Freeney or whoever in FA and fill holes with the draft.
