Was 22 at the time. Me and 8 others were at a buddies house for it, stocked up with ALOT of alcohol. Started out, just gonna be an inch or two. They revised it when it started coming down to 4 to 6. We got 19 inches of snowfall in Clay. Remember it well.

That's the weird part about that storm. Some local meteorologists in the area were severely downplaying the event because the weather had been beautiful and in the 70s in the days leading up to it. It was also hard to believe the ridiculous data the models were spitting out so some weathermen completely ignored it. I do remember James Spann hyping the storm as many as 5 days before it hit and nailing it. He kinda became a local weather legend because of that storm.
P.S. I was a senior in high school and checked out of school early to drive up to Tuscaloosa and stay with my brother and his room mates who lived in the house right next to the 2 story house at the 13th street/10th avenue intersection. That was a few years before they built that 2 story house. Incredibly fun weekend. Went to the KA house for a band party that Friday night and the power went off just before the band started. Remember witnessing a thunderstorm and seeing the greenish lightning bolt with the thunder sounding muffled as it hit all the snow. Weirdest, most awesome weather event I've ever witnessed.

Yeah, the cloud to cloud lightning at 1 am was freakishly cool. We were outside in that crap alot that night. There was a road, huge hill, behind the house my buddy was renting. We inner tubed down that for a couple days. Fortunately, the guy that owned the gas station a few hundred feet away, had his motorhome there and opened every day for people that had to walk there for necessities. We were one of the few that didn't lose power.

I remember it. Remember going outside that night and watching the crazy arse lightening in a blizzard. Remember sliding down hills in a sled the next day and having a blast as a kid.
Then I also remember being without power and miserable for the next 4-5 days and getting sick.

We had about a foot here and was out of school for a week. I was 11 and can remember walking to the store at the front of the neighborhood to get milk/bread because the roads were such a clusterfrick.
Our big one was in February of 1998 where within 4 days we accumulated roughly 23 inches of snow.

Was 12 at the time. I was on a family vacation in Orlando the week before. We had no clue it was going down until the night before we were to drive home to Gadsden. We got snowed in at a truck stop near the GA AL state line for two or three nights. Sleeping in the van and shite. Not incredibly awesome.

I was twelve at the time. We got a little over a foot in the DC Metro, if I remember correctly.

I was 25. LOL
Had no power for a week. Cooked everything in the house over that week on my coleman stove. Just happy I had plenty of fuel for it..
Almost froze to death... My wife and I was by the fire for a week...
I can remember the ice and snow breaking almost every tree on our street....

I was 26. The thundersnow was and still is one of the most awesome things I've ever witnessed.
Had over 8" and one side of the car was completely covered in a drift.
I don't remember how long the power was off, it was several days but the house had a gas floor furnace, gas hot water heater, and a gas stove so it really didn't bother me.

I was 13 and me and all my friends on the block had epic snowball wars. talking like 20 people on each side with an hour to build your "snow-fort" and prepare your ammo before all hell broke loose. Great times were had.

I was 4 at the time but remember at least 3-4 inches on the ground in Mobile. First time I had ever heard the term "thundersnow"
